Can. Very lemony nose, honey malts. Deep golden color fine head. Sweet malt flavor, lemony hops, some grass. Rather light body, crisp, tasty. Not so special, but a good, flavorful pils.

Bottle @ America Strikes Back, Ulfborg. Pours hazy rich amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and fruit, with notes of hops and yeast. Sweetish flavour of malt and fruit bubblegum, with notes of yeast and sparse hoppy touches. Sourish aftertaste. So-so.

This poured an exceptionally cloudy gold and in that sense I can see the nigorizake connection clearly. Mine accidentally wound up being a half & half with the EPA which gave it extra maltiness and was still actually fairly appetizing. A beer I hope to see on tap around town and better+more creative than your average sake-beer hybrid.

Tap. A realy sake-beer combo. Filthy, super milky off-white cloudy color, just like a nigorizake. Can’t say it really looks nice, but it is surprising! Nose of sake, creamy, vanilla, yogurt. Tangy and creamy flavor much like a nigori but with an underlying ale quality and a lighter body. Very fun beer, and very tasty as well.

5% On tap at Eni-bru as part of a sampler set. A clear copper gold with minimal head. A very floral nose for a med-light bodied beer. The taste is fruity, I’d probably class this as a golden ale you get plum, peach, lemon fruit notes with a hearty dose of malt base. Well balanced!

The note is no longer in effect as they’ve now released the 5% version in 2014. Bottle from CBB, 490 yen, served in a half-pint glass. A clear reddish brown pour with minimal head & no lacing. The aroma is vanilla & caramel but not caramel malts more caramel syrup. The taste is caramel candy, sugary sweet, vanilla, tangy finish. Thin bodied with a light unsatisfying mouthfeel. Not sure why but it disappoints me a gimmicky beer but ok for all that. I also get a distinct corn flavor sometimes... The ingredient list says it is made with vanilla beans & over 50% malt so perhaps some corn or rice is used in making this...
