Description
One of the most traditional Bavarian breweries - HERRNBRÄU - is located in Ingolstadt - the city in which Duke Wilhelm IV's world-famous “Bavarian Purity Law” was announced in 1516. For over 130 years we have stood for old Bavarian brewing art and beer specialties of the finest quality. Beer and wheat beer lovers far beyond the borders of Ingolstadt and Bavaria also know and appreciate our traditional recipes and products brewed only with the best ingredients.

(bottle) Cloudy, golden colour with a blond and rocky foamy head. Yeasty and sweet (wheat-)malty aroma with distinctive notes of grains and vanilla accompanied by banana and a tinge of cloves. Moderately sweet and slightly sour flavour, light to medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Yeasty and wheaty taste with a light to moderate fruit-character (banana) and mildly spicy phenols, most of all vanilla; Slightly sweet wheaty and tart finish, now with stronger spicy notes and a whiff of hoppy and yeasty bitterness. Decent and easy to drink Weizen. 31.VIII.09

On draught (@Altstadstüberl, Eichstätt) as Tradition Festbier:Golden, lively carbonation, qiute stable head with a little lace; sweetish-grainy nose, accompanied by a very faint tinge of bisquits; light sweetish flavour, quite light bodied for a beer of such strength - almost empty MF; becomes a bit sourish in the fruity-grainy finish. A very simple, monotonous Märzen............
