Description
One of the most traditional Bavarian breweries - HERRNBRÄU - is located in Ingolstadt - the city in which Duke Wilhelm IV's world-famous “Bavarian Purity Law” was announced in 1516. For over 130 years we have stood for old Bavarian brewing art and beer specialties of the finest quality. Beer and wheat beer lovers far beyond the borders of Ingolstadt and Bavaria also know and appreciate our traditional recipes and products brewed only with the best ingredients.

Bottle: Golden, hazy with a medium-sized stable white head; moderate wheaty nose, a bit clovey too, with detectable influences of citrus-fruits; moderate sourish-sweetish flavour, creamy MF, medium bodied; increasing citrousy aromas in the sourish-sweetish finish with a little tartness and bitterness in the aftertaste. Good and very pleasant..........

Bottle: Golden, hazy to cloudy, quite stable off-white foam; clovey dusty-wheaty nose with a tinge of cinnamon and bananas; moderate sweetish-sourish flavour, soft and medium-bodied; a tinge of caramel in the mild wheaty-fruity finish. Average Weize, well drinkable instead........

(bottle) Cloudy, hazelnut colour with an orange shine and a big foamy, slightly tanned head. Sweet and yeasty malty aroma with a moderate wheat-character, lighter notes of banana, dried fruits and a present touch of cacao and vanilla. Sweet flavour with a mild acidity in the background, light to medium bodied with a crispy carbonation. Cara-malty, moderately wheaty and yeasty taste with fruity notes, cacao and vanilla; sweet and wheaty, moderately fruity finish. Almost complex Dunkelweizen. 14.IX.09

Yeasty, moderately sweet wheaty and and grainy citrus-fruity aroma with a tinge of banana Slightly sweet and moderately sour flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Pleasant wheat-character with fruity notes of banana, citrus and traces of exotic fruits like kiwi towards the sweet and minimal acidic, slightly clovy finish. Good Weizen. 12.IX.09

Bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied with a medium carbonation. Pale malt-character, slightly strawy taste with shy herbal spice. Faint bitter finish with light grainy notes in the aftertaste 04.IX.09

(bottle) Cloudy, golden colour with a blond and rocky foamy head. Yeasty and sweet (wheat-)malty aroma with distinctive notes of grains and vanilla accompanied by banana and a tinge of cloves. Moderately sweet and slightly sour flavour, light to medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Yeasty and wheaty taste with a light to moderate fruit-character (banana) and mildly spicy phenols, most of all vanilla; Slightly sweet wheaty and tart finish, now with stronger spicy notes and a whiff of hoppy and yeasty bitterness. Slightly yeasty, moderately sweet and toasty wheaty aroma with distinctive berry-fruity notes and lighter phenolic spices. Bottle (kindly delivered by joss!): Hazy, amber coloured, big fluffy beige head that rather quickly collapses; moderate toasty and fruity nose (dried black berries) moderate sweet-bitter, also slightly sourish flavour, medium bodied, quite soft MF; lingering fruity-sourish, but also toasty-malty finish. Good, well rounded and aromatic.........
