Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. was founded in 1979, with founders Ken Grossman and Paul Camusi expanding their homebrewing hobby into a brewery. Sierra Nevada is considered one of the earliest and most influential breweries which spawned the craft beer movement of the 1980s-90s.

Tap in Santa Cruz: Hazy amber,lasting off white head. Hop nose. Scant hops in the flavor,not as many as their pale ale. Not one of their best

Bottled. Black with beige solid, lasting head. Licorice aroma. Dry and medium bodied. Really tarry with chewy malts and a long bitter finish. Well balanced.

Huge lasting tan head. Sweet fruity nose. Roasted flavor, but gassy and thin. Not a good offering from this excellent brewery.

2001 Bottle. Deep copper color.Massive hop nose.Light malt foretaste with a huge hop finish Above figures are for rerate Dec 2012 Amber,lasting beige head.Nice fresh hop nose.Effervescant hop profile with good malt in back.Big lasting bitter hop finish.Great lace

cloudy amber with dense tan head.Small bead. Faintly fruity hop nose. Well hopped but well balanced. Lots of carbonation. Great stuff
