Bottle from Utobeer. I opened this with some trepidation as not many UK raters who’ve had this in the last few months haven given it that good a score. In fact they’ve said they prefer the SNPA. This is amber with lasting beige head. Very moderate hop aroma. Far more hoppy and bitter in mouth, maybe a little unbalanced. Not enough malt to underpin the harsh peppery hop, which lasts. It’s fine. Just nothing special. No great fruit from malt and hops.

Orange good looking beer with white thin head. Flavor is fruitful and special aroama is papaya. Aftertaste is quite light but there is pleasent hops.

Bottle at københavnske øldage 07. Copper colour with a beige head.. Aroma is fruit, hop, malt . Flavour is hop, fruit, malt . Ok beer.

So I’ve never had this beer, and it’s the fourth of july, the perfect season for stuff like this, so what the hell, why not? - moderately cloudy gold, with a medium-sized, foamy head - aroma of bready/yeasty notes, mild citrus/orange sweetness, and slight earthy tartness - a tiny bit tangy and tart up front - fairly dry, with the wheat very forward - somewhat bready, with a touch of spice and a very slight nuttiness - lacking depth, but a nice beer for a summer day.

Bottle. Amber with a slight, short-lived off-white head. Aroma of spicy hops with some malty sweetness. Flavour was earthy with a hoppy finish. Not bad.

Bottle. Deep ruby red with a moderate white head. Aroma of floral hops and red fruit. Flavour was of citrus hops with some supporting spice and a dry hoppy finish. Good.

Bottle at Københavnske Øldage. Clear, copper pour with a small, beige head. The nose is too weak I think, with malt and hops, but too weak and boring, yet nice. Malt and hops in a nice union in the flavor, but far from a world class beer. Medium body and a mostly hoppy finish. It’s not a bad beer, but I would like an IPA to be fuller, more complex and hoppier. (070512)

2005 bottle, opened July 2007. Red brown with a lasting off-white head. Big malty nose, with intense notes of dried fruit and port as well as pine and citrus notes. Flavour is relatively dry with lots of hops, bitterness and pine notes, and some alcohol. I love it now, and it also tastes like it could be cellared for many more years.
2007 in 2013: slightly dusty nose, still incredibly hoppy flavour, and quite bitter finish.
2017 in 2017: It’s been a while, and I realised I haven’t written any notes on a fresh Bigfoot. Fantastic aroma of grapefruit, orange and peach, along with vineous alcohol and bready malt. Flavour of malt and citrus with a touch of alcohol, along with great hop bitterness. These days I’m firmly a fan of fresh Bigfoot.

Big white head shrinks slowly leaving coarse lacing. Pale yellow body. Chalky apple aroma, like a Czech lager, with firm malty notes. Sweetish, resiny taste, extremely clean, slightly fruity. Some medicinal notes and faint fruity hops. Not much aftertaste, just a dry hint. Nice, mellow, not too exciting. Quite good. (0.355l bottle. Rerated bottle from Sainsbury’s, London.)

On Tap at the Old Boise Brew Fest 07 pours out clear yellow topped with a white head. A little grain on this one.
