750ml bottle unintentionally aged the better part of two years. Holds up well. Unfiltered orange-tan, fluffy white head. Sort of boozy aroma for a Tripel. True Belgian mouthfeel and effervescence, but also tastes like they dumped a ton a sugar in it to get it up to 11%. Sort of like an Imperial Belgian Amber more than a Tripel. So boozy, but has a quality feel to which makes it something like the ultimate malt liquor. Certainly not an accomplishment in the world of brewing, but fills in another odd corner in the Belgian beer universe. Probably really nice before the assumed extract/sugar overdose.

Tap at Oak Creek brewpub, the server raved about saying how a group of Hells Angels loved the stuff. Pours hazy yellow orange, with big nose of orange cream. Tastes just like that an orange creamiscle. It’s too sweet though and our group had trouble polishing off glass between us. Not my bag I’ll leave for the bikers

Poured up via cask and at basically warm room temperature at Papago, which I have no problem with whatsoever, with clear amber hued body and copper edges supporting a nice nearly tight tan head. The aroma offers up chili pepper meat and plenty of heat and really little else except faint malt roastiness showing up every so often. The taste is up front chili pepper meat and quickly getting into capsicum warming and spicy heat. Around the chili peppers I get faint wafer thin notes of roasted malt and sweet maltiness. It stays pretty warm and spicy and burning hot deep into the after taste.

Tap @ Papago. Very light yellow appearance with a white head. Citrusy, lemon spritzy light husky, grainy aroma. A bit tangy, lemon citrusy, bready malty flavor. Pretty refreshing.

Tap @ Papago. Golden appearance with almost no head. Delicious rich sweet honey, thick vanilla, sweet apple crisp aroma. Cream soda, light honey flavor. This doesn’t taste like beer but it is tasty. Hard to rate.

Tap @ Papago. Dark tangerine orange appearance with a white head. Very rich, orange citrusy, tangy fruity, Belgian yeasty aroma. Coriander, very rich orange citursy, somewhat spicy, light barnyard flavor. Quite spicy.

Tap @ Papago. Clear, golden appearance with a fluffy, white head. Somewhat resiny, piney hoppy aroma. Pretty potent piney, slightly grapefruity hoppy flavor with with a bitter, piney finish. A little bit chewy.

Poured up on tap at Papago with clear gold with lasting white head. The aroma offers up light notes of acidic lemon citrus notes, yeasty spices and a very modest barnyard like funkiness well off in the background. The taste is crisp and light and extremely imperially double (or triple) sessionable created by fresh notes of acidic citrus tartness to mildly funky yeast. It then quickly picks up grainy malts to sort of dry wheat husks to midway helping to ground the lighter and brighter notes. Damn, this will make an insanely good summer brew. I sure hope they have more by then. Dig dig dig this.

On tap at Papago pouring up opaque and slightly murky amber body with copper hues and thin off white head. The aroma offers up bold spicy oak and then lesser amounts of sweet bourbon and vanilla. The taste begins with spicy rye, some sweet malts and spicy oak notes. To midway it gets a touch sweeter as vanilla and sweet bourbon like notes are noticed. Whoa, this has lots of spicy oak running from front to back followed by persistent bourbon and vanilla. Too much barrel time makes me yearn for what the beer actually tasted like before it was dropped into it. This is bourbon-y smooth and spicy and pretty un-offensive.
