Bottle thanks to Cloin. It pours hazy brown with a medium yellow beige head. The aroma is earthy, woody, funky, musty, dried fruits, damp leaves and fruit cake. The taste is crisp, tart, lemon sherbet, sour apricot, peachy, decent acidity, tea bag, wood and damp earth with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Aroma is mellow, but taste is decent.

At a tasting, many thanks, smallish fizzy head, hazy pale orange color, vinegar and vanila aroma with some fruitiness, flavor of fruit and sour bread with vinous notes and light spiciness in the back, mellow sourness. Good, satisfying and original.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Max’s place. Hazy golden. Aroma of wine, oak, strong fruitiness, lacto, earth, a vinegar note, and a spicy note. Sour flavor, very fruity, with wine, oak, funk, lacto, a caramel hint, a vinegar note, and a spicy hint. Medium-bodied, quite rounded. Great stuff.

Poured from a growler. Aroma is very fruity with nice raspberry and boysenberry notes. Light acidity with a bit of grain and citrus. Pours a cloudy purplish red with a moderately large, thick pink head. Light lacing and no legs. Flavor has a medium light citrus notes and acidity. Moderately strong berry notes with a nice balance of all three. The blackberry note might be a bit lacking compared to the boysenberry. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a pretty nice beer. Lots of berry notes with a good, medium light acidity. Needs a bit more funk. Good body to the beer.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brown/black with a beige head. Light coffee and bourbon aromas. Med + coffee. Flavor is coffee which is rather overcome by chocolate and bourbon. Heat also interferes a bit. Overall it suggests (somewhat) a chocolate liqueur candy. The flavors are very well blended. Quite delicious.

500 ml. bottle from The Hop Grenade. It pours a deep orange gold color with a small, fizzy off white head. The aroma is full with peach, apricot fruit. Light acid on the nose with some light funk and hints of graham cracker maltiness. The flavor is vinous and funky with light to medium acidity, oranges, big oak character, some wine grapes, apricot and spicy phenolics. Hints of toasted malt in the background. Smooth on the palate and rather full bodied, but well attenuated. The acidity level is right where I want it with big wine barrel notes and funk. Loved this one.
