Beige-brownish head with good retention atop of a black body with deep ruby shades. Smell of whisky and dark fruits. Whisky taste, alright, and dark roasted malts added by oak vanilla sweetness partly offset by a nice backdrop of dark berries - blackcurrant, I would say. Enjoyable, however, still rather sweet. Well kept real ale, half pint, served at the North Bar in Leeds, 11.07.2010.

Cask, half pint, served lightly chilled in a mug at the North Bar in Leeds. Golden body topped by a film type layer. Aroma of fruity hops. Hints of lemon and grapefruits in flavour rounded off by a dry bitter ending. Very refreshing and paired well with local made cheese (Sunday pub crawl in Leeds, 11.07.2010).

16th April 2010. Slightly hazy gold beer. Light semi dry palate. A little crisp. Sweetish pale malt gives way to dry hop. Reasonably fruity. Dry finish. Competant but dull!

Cask at the Hope Trip (JDW), Reading. Pale straw with a dense cream head; citrus aroma; citrus taste with some underlying biscuity malts; and a clean refreshing, lightly bitter, finish. An OK summer beer to drink while watching the football.

Cask handpull at The County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Pale gold lasting white head. Lovely soft citrus nose. Great condition. Good pale malt in mouth. Touch of grass but also good bitter citrus hops and grapefruit on finish.

Cask (handpump) @ Wenlock Arms, 26 Wenlock Road, London, Greater London England N1 7TA.Clear medium orange color with a small, fizzy, virtually none lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, moderate caramel, moderate to light heavy ginger, soap. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long to average duration, spicy, ginger. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat, finsh has a ginger after burn. [20091228]

Cask (handpump) @ Market Porter, 9 Stoney Street, Southwark, London, Greater London, England SE1 9AA.Clear medium yellow orange color with a small to average, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toffee, light to moderate hoppy, spicy, chees notes, butter notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Hazy amber with a dense cream head; grainy aroma; smooth and sweet witrh a grainy flavour and touch of ginger; then a clean bitter finish. Unexceptional.
