On tap at Okinawa fest in Yoyogi park. Hazy light yellow color. The nose is fairly tart with pungent Shiquasa notes. The mouth is light, tart and highly refreshing. On the verge of tasting like a soda pop, though not too sweet. Great summer beer.

Can from Mick, 5%, served in a snifter and drunk on the train home. A dark black, pretty much black pour with alight beige fizzy head. The aroma is sweet candy roasted chocolate sweetness. The taste is roasty chocolate & sweet fruity dark malts. A solid though unexciting dark beer.

Tap at 2014 Kyoto Zest beer festival. Orange-brown color with a fine head. Nose of cherries, oranges, caramel, gum balls. Sweet flavor, caramel and fruits. A bit cheap tasting, though spicy with a nice tart, fruity flavor.

Can@Papsø - yellow coloured pour with small white head. Straw, grassy, sweet malty, slight hoppy lemon citrus, with very watery/weak floral and herbal traces.

Can 33 cl. Pours yellow with a vague haze and a lacing white head. Dusty, dry aroma - not entirely sure of what. Medium body, extremely dry and cardboardish. Has an astringent, bitter finish - not necessarily of hops. Oddball. 220214

Quite hoppy and tasty for a German lager, has traits of an pale ale. Nice beer.

I guess this beer has been revived but is now an Imperial Red Ale clocking in at 7.5%. I got it on tap at Bungalow. A nice amber gold pour with a 1.5cm foamy off-white head which lingered & left behind great lacing. A caramel & citrus aroma. This full bodied beer is bready with caramel & biscuity malt notes, the hops take a backseat by just lending light citrus notes and a dry bitter finish. A really nice beer that doesn’t taste as strong as it is.

Can from Seijo Ishii, Karasuma. Rich caramel malt nose, chocolate, earthy hops with some grass and a touch of citrus. Malty, yet earthy and dry. Medium amber color with a low, fine head. Rich malty flavor, good caramel with a bit of chocolate, but nicely balance by hops as well. A bit of orange and cherry complement the nutty and earthy character. Nice drinking beer, and much better than their old Christmas red. Good rich body as well.

350 ml can from Seijo Ishii @ Nagoya station. Pours with a huge head but it goes away quite fast. Looks like a slightly hazy freshly pressed apple juice, dark copper. Aroma is mango and pineapple, surprisingly fruity and flowery. Some notes of malty bread pressing through. Taste is quite round, maruyaka. First it feels just as the aroma - mouthful of sweet tropical fruits, very soft mouthfeel with pleasant flowery hops. However, this first sensation fades soon and taste turns sour and a bit buttery. Aftertaste is bitter but maybe not so dry. Wet bitter? Overall a pleasant experience, perhaps even one of my favourites from Helios.
