THE UNEXAMINED BEER IS NOT WORTH BREWING
There comes a time in every man’s life when he must ask himself – Should I continue working my steady and lucrative job or should I just quit and make beer? Well, for Norfolk-native Porter Hardy, the decision was a no-brainer. In 2012, the former home-brewer (and now former lawyer) traded his ties in for tap handles, and never looked back. With a stellar team around him, Porter entered un-fermented waters as one of the original craft breweries to set up shop in Hampton Roads.

16 ounce can thanks to hershiser2! 1/9/20. Hazy bronze, large foamy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of grain, honey, caramel, hay, raisin. Kinda like raisin bran. Taste is piney hops, honey, cherry, grain, toast. Medium bodied, crisp. Solid.

12 oz can from jocs, 12/23/19. Pours a dark brown color with a large, fizzy, light brown colored head. Roast, chocolate, bit of coconut. Moderately sweet. Fizzy feel. Decent, but not quite there for me.

$2.10 can, WW. Pours black, or close to it, with a brown head. Cocoa, chocolate, coconut nose. Flavor is cocoa, metal, very light coconut, chocolate. Not artificial tasting, but tastes cheap... like cheap candy.

Pours slightly hazy, bit darker blonde. Small white head. Smell is pine, bit fruity, malty, bit sweet impression. Not creamy like all the new hazecraze got us used to. Taste is medium full, pine, decent bitterness. Room is left for the malts to compete as well, creating a more than decent body, under a lower carbonation. Mildly fruity. Surprisingly easy to drink. Bit caramelly. Fun to drink this more 'classical' style of American IPA.

16 oz can from jcos. Lighter amber color with a beige head. Spice forward aroma with lots of bready / grainy malts and a bit of a dark fruit (raisin?) type of thing as well. Bit of brown sugar / molasses comes through on finish. Solid.

Small white rim over hazy ochre beer. Almost smell-deprive. Rainwater, some faintly toasted malts. Artichoke, cooked. Bitterish, bananapeel, lupulin, bitter baguette. Bit slick, low to medium carbonation, but a bit tittilating feel, all the same. Not exciting.
