THE UNEXAMINED BEER IS NOT WORTH BREWING

There comes a time in every man’s life when he must ask himself – Should I continue working my steady and lucrative job or should I just quit and make beer? Well, for Norfolk-native Porter Hardy, the decision was a no-brainer. In 2012, the former home-brewer (and now former lawyer) traded his ties in for tap handles, and never looked back. With a stellar team around him, Porter entered un-fermented waters as one of the original craft breweries to set up shop in Hampton Roads.

4 month old can. ABV stated on can 4.8% A: Poured hard to only a short quickly falling head atop a mostly clear pale gold body.with busy bubbles. S: Sweet bready malts dominate with faint lemon and grass hops. A funky musty note also presents that I'm not sure I like. T: Bitter lemony and grassy hops at first, quickly joined by sweet bread or cake malts. Heavy biscuit as it warms. M: Soft carbonation and a medium light body with an oily finish. O: Good well balanced flavors despite an off note in the aroma, possibly due to age. Worthwhile pils.
