THE UNEXAMINED BEER IS NOT WORTH BREWING
There comes a time in every man’s life when he must ask himself – Should I continue working my steady and lucrative job or should I just quit and make beer? Well, for Norfolk-native Porter Hardy, the decision was a no-brainer. In 2012, the former home-brewer (and now former lawyer) traded his ties in for tap handles, and never looked back. With a stellar team around him, Porter entered un-fermented waters as one of the original craft breweries to set up shop in Hampton Roads.

GBBF Day 3. Cask. Hazy orange gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Soft malts, a thin creamy sweetness. Modest hop spice. Good straight up citric hops, good orange. Touch of grapefruit. Light spicy finish. Very drinkable.

Can 355ml (canned 04/09/19, Beer Rep)
Slight hazy amber colour, medium-sized off-white head. Piney, a bit alcoholic, hop oily aroma. Medium-bodied. Piney, citrusy, a bit danky, some alcohol. When fresh, probably really good.

Surprisingly solid. Well balanced maple with lots of roast and coffee. Some caramel. Black pour with mocha head and lacing. Bittersweet end, fairly dry. Creamy texture. Nice stuff, and maple is well integrated. Tall can.

$3.35 pint can, Wine Warehouse. Pours hazy gold with an off-white head. Aroma is orange peel, other citrus... trying to nab something else but I can't. Flavor is artificially flavored marshmallows (this is the plan, yes?), orange peel, grapefruit rind. Interesting and not altogether bad. Interesting at the very least.
