on Tap at the brewpub. Moderate brown/amber with a thin white head and only flecks of lacing. Pale only moderate hop aroma and quite mild hoppy flavor. Quite tame for an IPA. Pleasant though and very drinkable.

On Tap at the brewpub. Deep redish brown with a fairly full off white creamy head. Rich woody aromas and flavor. Moderately heavy feel and a slightly bitter finish. Tasty

On Tapat Bend Brewing, poured a deep dark brown with a small light brown head. Spotty lacing. Nice soft roasted aromas and a thin but smooth feel. Lacing the sour bitter burnt flavors of other porters. Nice

Golden colour with slight haze. No shock - lots of resiny hop notes and crystal malt as per the style archetype. Thankfully, the attenuation is respectable and the body thus leaner than many examples of the style. I prefer this (disagreeing with Jordan, apparently). The finish leans I think a little more to the malt, though itβs hardly a doppelbock. Itβs just that the finish is only slightly hoppy but fairly chewy.

It has good Saaz hop presence in the nose and body, but the finish is abrupt and lackluster.

Big and toffeeish. Respectable example of the style. Disclaimer: it was really hot out when I tried this, and it would likely taste better if it wasn't the middle of summer. But then I wasn't the genius who decided to bring it to the OBF, either.
