Pours a clear bluish-pink with little to no head. Aroma of blueberries. Taste has lightly tart fruit notes. Taste has tart blueberry notes, blackberry, lactic elements. Palate has lingering malt, light sour notes. Good.

Pours bright deep pink with a thin pink head. A tart aroma of stone fruit and raspberries. Taste starts tart and fades to sweet with a heavy influence of Pilsen malt. Palate is ridiculously nuanced, stone fruits, heavy nose notes of yeast, coriander, bright malt. Fantastic.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, fairly fast-dying tan head and a relatively deep opacity - around 80% when held to a light. Aroma of roasted malt, light anise and licorice and a good deal of deep brewed coffee - fairly bitter, but mainly expected. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong roasted notes that show the roasted coffee more than the roasted malts, but some pitted fruits and raisin sweetness right behind with a good deal of malt, grain, yeast, bread and earthy nuts afterwards that all have a lot of flavour and leave the palate relatively pungent and bitter, in a good way. Aftertaste shows the bitterness from the coffee and roasted malt up front, with a lot of nuts, earth, grain and especially the pitted fruit and sweetness that all have a bit of a thinness towards the end that make this feel almost more of a porter than a sweet stout. Overall, a nice and rich beer that hit the right notes, but just not hard enough for the style - again, this is a touch watery and showing on a Porter side of the spectrum versus a 'real' stout. I sampled this stubby twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Fairfield, Connecticut on 22-December-2019 for US$1,99 sampled at home in Washington on 28-January-2020.

Bottle pour from BevMax, Hamden. Appearance is hazy, almost opaque dark brown (slight mahogany with light source directly behind) with light sparkle at the edges of the glass, finger-width fizzy light brown head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is very strong vanilla (like French vanilla ice cream) and not much else. Taste is also strong vanilla and a hint of roasted coffee. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with thin, almost watery texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, I like vanilla so enjoy the flavor but it is a bit like that drop of vanilla extract you wipe off the bottle when baking and put in your mouth--too strong! And nothing else there. Mouthfeel is all wrong, too for the style--this is like some kind of flat vanilla soda. Isn't terrible but is likely to disappoint.

Bottle in a trade with tfontana, thanks Tom. Aroma is soft vanilla. Flavor is slight coffee, shoe leather, and moderate vanilla. Vanilla is very earthy. Body is a tad thinner but good flavor.

Pours pitch black with a thin white head. Aroma of rich chocolate malt. Taste has odd flavorings, pumpkin spice. Palate has mild hops layered over a rich malt back. Really interesting, thin.

Pours golden with a thin white head. Aroma of lactose and salt. Taste has coconut and sour lactose notes. Palate has tropical and coconut notes. Too much coconut.

Pours hazy amber with a thick white head. Aroma of mosaic and citra hops. Taste has smooth tropical fruit elements. Palate has slightly resinous taste, pine and tropical notes. Good.
