Tap, Toronado SF. Clear golden color, short head. Aroma is quite hoppy. Decent bitter taste, bit sparkling, some malt. Good czech styled pilsener with a decent amount of hoppy bitterness. Very nice stuff.

(10/27/08) Draught at Toronado in San Francisco. Clear, maybe slightly hazy, golden with a small, quickly-diminishing, white head. Aroma of bready malt, light buttery hints and decent hoppiness with a bit of grassy notes. Sweetish malty flavor with light diacetyl character and a pleasantly bitter finish with some grass. Medium-bodied. Not bad.

Draft. I believe this is Death & Taxes with added Pinot Noir Grapes during fermentation (not barrel aged). Dark mahogony beer with a light tan head. Light cocoa, malt aroma with noticeable grape/wine. Cocoa and rich malt flavor backed with balancing grape/wine. Medium body. Light cocoa lingers with malt and slight chocolate and a growing grape flavor. Not bad to try.

On tap at the Toronado. I find this, although a great pilsner, vastly overated. Grassy aroma. Pours with a slightly hazy golden body and a white head. Taste is crisp, light apples, grain and some sweetness. Lively bubbles. Not really my thing.

On Tap. Drank along side the new Stone 12. Pours with a black body covered by a small, light brown head. Great Lcing. Coffee grounds and a bit of fruit in the aroma. A lot of coffee grounds in the taste along with a burnt maltiness. A pretty nice, light body, but a bit on the fizzy side of things.

Coca-Cola brown beer, with neary no head. Coffee nose, soft-roasted coffee beans, sweetish. Very dry woody, tad fruity, very roasted, and really not hoppy! Coffee returning in the finish, and pine. Not very well-bodied, well-carbonated, slick. Very special, and an unbelievable treat to have it here in Belgium! Thanks, CK!
