Pours a clear reddish-brown from a bottle. Aroma of cooked cherries, caramel, flavor slightly chocolate-y. Almost like a lighter porter. Somewhat boozy tasting. Good beer.

Pours a clear amber from a growler. Aroma of grass, a light caramel syrup. Flavor immediately of soap, but dissipates and becomes a nice drinkable, almost sessionable pale ale, some bitterness on the back end, but mostly a nice light malty ale.

4 pack of fresh 16oz cans drunk Winter ’14-’15.
Nothin like a beach blonde ale in the heart of Winter, I always say (I actually don’t). Actually a slight haze to this otherwise pencil yellow beer with a moderate amount of foamy white head.
Quite grainy in the nose with just a touch of perfumey-like floral hoppiness, but mostly earthy, dry-herbal hops and light corn and vanilla (wouldnt say DMS). Minerals, no alcohol.
A mouthful of sweet honey up front is stretched out over the mostly lean body as carbonation distributes it more evenly. Light toasted character has some mildly husky/grainy quality to it with heavy fruitiness. Perhaps a slight hint of diacetyl or DMS even, but it’s minor at best. Drinkable and with enough body and crispness on the end to satisfy.

Pours a dark straw from a bottle. Others have noted hay/grassy notes, to me the bottle I purchased is overly skunky in aroma and flavor. Was hoping for a crisp, slightly bitter, grainy beer to refresh me in the mid-spring, but kind of regretting opening this now.

A quick flash of coconut and pineapple as you lift it up to your nose, but the taste is just overwhelmingly bitter.

Pours an amber from a tap. Rather normal example of an IPA. Nothing special, but certainly nothing bad.

Normally I’m not too hot on milk stouts, but this one was very good, not light and acidic like others, but really approaching a traditional stout in terms of maltiness and flavor. Good beer.

Pours a straw from a bottle, lots of effervescence and a thick white head, little lacing. Aroma is a slightly grassy/hay yeastiness, flavor adds some white pepper. Good beer.

Pours a copper from a can, nice malty aroma is balanced with floral hops, a good balanced beer, perfect for drinking on the Cape in early spring.
