Bottle. This is a beer I used to drink many years ago. I am going by memory mostly so the rating may not be entirely accurate. However, from what I do remember it was a really good beer. It was at a time when I was drinking crappy beer and this was the best I had had up till then. I wish I could find it again to see if it is as good as I remember.

Notes from May 2009 7oz nip, courtesy of my RB pal Dorothy. :P Served into my Yards taster mug. Pours out sizzling like Canada Dry. Faint grain, tonic, & mustiness. Classically boring, but unoffensive. Taste is lightly sweet crackery malt & husk. Noticeable wet bark/twig bitterness also included. Spritzy, but ends with a little Euro trash as it warms. Unless these come complimentary, with a try me sticker, taped to the back of a bottle of Wild Turkey, I don't think I'm game enough for another.

Orange, malt, and straw aroma. Golden yellow with large light tan head. Mildly sweet blood orange, light malt, and lightly bitter straw flavor. Very light body. No off flavors but not much here.

7oz green bottle from Total Wine. Pale golden, flat. Grainy aroma, corny, slight vegetal notes. Taste is sweet with an oily feel, more corn. Slightly sticky finish.

Been waiting for a while to try this and I finally scored a $10 case of 24 at Pete's Uptown in Ellwood City, decent beer distributor. The place is run by a couple of freindly gentlemanlike hippies, heheh. How about this, a good drinken cheap unoffensive american beer for less than 46 cents a can! ! Smell is clean and fresh and non-offensive. My palate says it a very good civilized cheap pale lager, I'm enjoying this. Friendly and bubbly, what else can you ask for in beer? A big numbing alky content? NO? Just asking. That's what you may want. This is simply a real nice 1960's contemporary beer drinking experience, you know, before the popularity of the recent faddish IPA wave? This is almost as good as Straub American, Ringside or even Burgh'ers 1890, almost rises to the top, thanks Burgher!

Sampled from a can this beer poured a very dark golden color with a large foamy orange white head that left no lacing. The aroma was sweet, tangy and corny. The flavor was sweet, tangy, corny and yeasty with a faint golden fruit presence. Medium length finish. Medium body. Better than expected

Drank directly from a bottle, I presume this beer to be a simply clear pale yellow. Aroma was a little off. Very good initial impressions, refreshing as all hell. Simple easy pale lager that is a nice break from all the stupid ass IPA out there, thank you. Just a really good plane old example of beer, just as I was introduced to it. Bubbly and fresh all over. Clean fresh, civilized and even a little tart perhaps. I thought this was the original amber, but it aint! Overall good expected beer experience. Not disappointing. BTW, city brewing is not a great small brewery, hupephl was but now they don't make it, city does.
