Can split at the Travlr tasting, thanks to Gene, 30/09/15. Dark mahogany brown with moderate beige edgeing. Nose is dark fruit shreds, chocolate, light spice, toffee. Taste comprises brown bread, cocoa powder, dark fruits. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough for style and definitely the best dark wheat bier I’ve raked from Nebraska!!!

Draft. A- Smoky, bacon, unami, subtle urine. A- Black color, black liquid, tan head. T- Roasty, dry, smoke, subtle cocoa, char. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, roasty finish. O- I somewhat expected good things and not that it was bad, but it was lacking. Plenty of smoke and roasty tones and even some meaty bacon to it but not a lot cocoa or coffee wise. Quite one dimensional.

Draft. A- Grapefruit, grassy, pine, resin, juicy. A- Amber color, clear liquid, white head. T- Grapefruit, bitter, grassy, pine, resin. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, juicy finish. O- Wow. I think Thunderhead brews some pretty decent beers but this one is lights out. They are not thinking straight if this doesn’t becoming a yearly offering or a year round beer. Very juicy and grassy and balanced. Stands up to any grapefruit IPA I’ve had. Wish I could have just a little bit more. Very well done.

Draft. A- Chamomile, bath soap, soft perfume. A- Yellow color, cloudy liquid, white head. T- Chamomile, perfume. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, soft finish. O- Not sure how the aloha and chamomile go together. Aloha makes me think pineapple not tea. Either way, this was pretty good. The chamomile stood out unlike a lot of chamomile beers I’ve had, but it wasn’t overpowering. Nicely balanced.

Draft. A- Lemon, candy. A- Yellow color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Lemon, slightly sweet, wheat, honey. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, dry finish. O- These guys are on a roll. Been brewing a lot of different beers in this new series they have going on. This one is one of the better ones so far. A nice candy like sweetness to it and the lemon stands out but it isn’t a cloying fake tasting beer. Not too shabby.

Draft. A- Pumpkin, spices, soapy. A- Yellow color, cloudy liquid, minimal head. T- Pumpkin, spices, dish soap. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, unbalanced finish. O- This looked like nasty dirty dishwater. Had a soapy flavor too. Maybe they spilled a batch in the sink and just ran the tap line from the sink instead of the keg. The flavor is okay. Get plenty of pumpkin and spice but very little peach if any at all.
