Description
The Yeastie Boys - Stu McKinlay and Sam Possenniskie are the dynamic duo of New Zealand's craft beer scene. They burst onto the beer landscape with two trophies for their flagship porter Pot Kettle Black at BrewNZ 2009 and have remained firmly ensconced there ever since.
Yeastie Boys is a deliciously irreverent brewing company and, quite possibly, the world's smallest multinational. We take beer and people very seriously... everything else is unmitigated fun!
We brew in opposite ends of the earth - New Zealand, Australia & United Kingdom - to keep the world in good beer balance.

Can. Slightly unclear body with a fine white head. Nice aroma that's actually smells like floral tea with some citric fruit and soft malt in the background. Flavor is rich, soft floral tea, fruit, a bit like ice tea with soft malt and moderate bitterness. Fine balanced body and long lasting aftertaste. An interesting version of an IPA, and it works great.

Bottle. Hazy yellow body with a big white head. Aroma is peat, peat and some more peat with bacon and smoked ham. Flavor is the same peat dominated thing, no balance really just very peaty and sweet. I guess this is one of these typical love or hate kind of beer, but I actually find myself a bit in the middle. It’s not bad at all and there is actually some kind of balance to be found here, getting a bit used to this it’s kinda nice. Still pretty one dimensional but I think its made in a nice and uncompromising way. This is not just a silly novelty beer, this is some kind of experiment that end up god on its own premises. It has been done before and as far as I remember this tastes more than less the same as Nøgne Ø 100% Peat from about 5 years ago. It’s kinda nice and definitively fun for the open mind beer taster.

Bottle at home. Aroma of malt, grass, soft chocolate, some roast, fruity notes, some grapefruit, citrus, "sinas snippers", hops. Flavour is light sweet with a moderate bitter finish. Body is medium. Very easily drinkable and refreshing fruity malty hoppy chocolate Porter, soft but tasty.

Bottle at home. Aroma is quite herbal, very floral, vanilla, jasmine, bergamot, tea, lemon, soapy, potpourri, hoppy notes. Flavour is light sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied. Generally I adore Earl Grey IPA but this was something else, truly off-the-scale herbal and floral. Interesting, but not necessarily a drinking experience I care to repeat.

Can from Biernavigatie. Aroma is fairly hoppy with rice, citrus, tropical notes, with a light soapy touch. Flavour is light sweet and medium bitter with a decent dry finish. Body is light to medium. I can't fault this nicely hopped and dry 'Rice Golden'. Goes very well with Asian food.
