Cask at Great British Beer Festival 2023, Olympia, London. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium off white/beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, caramel taste and aroma. A decent porter from Cornwall.

Ever-growing foamy off white head left a frothy mess in a highly carbonated unclear copper coloured body. Malt & bitter aroma. Medium bodied, foamy dry & clean. Malt, berries & caramel tastes with a bitter finish. Like a 1970's Bitter.

Foamy light brown head on a reddish brown body. Reb berry, malt & herbal aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a foamy back. Malt, coca-cola, grain, herbal & musty tastes. Strange one.

Large foamy tan head on a near black body. Chocolate, malt & bitter aroma. Medium bodied, foamy dry & sticky on the back. Chocolate, malt & toffee tastes with a bitter piney finish. Good one.

Appearance is dark brown, with a clingy beige head. Aroma is malt, dark fruits, hints of blackcurrant. Taste is rough malt, fruitcake, nutty loaf, dark malt, some juicy dark fruit.

13/7/2023. Cask at the Chelmsford Summer Beer & Cider Festival 2023. Pours clear dark golden with a small bubbly white head. Aroma is malty, stone fruits, citrus, grass. Medium sweetness, light to moderate bitterness and body. Soft carbonation. Okay.

Pours clear, amber (caramel amber) , not much head. Scent is ... manure. Peated aspect, wtf? Taste is smoked, peated, manure-like, definately not what I expect in a bitter. Easy drinker, but this doesn't seem right at all.
Edit : I chatted with the bartender (owner) about it, and he said this is actually how the beer is, and indeed it's made with peated malts. Great huray for originality, but I feel like this should at least be made clear by the label... As is, this is really not as expected - and not in a good way to me.

Cask at Queens Arms Basingstoke. Aroma had earth, Caramel and damp carpet. Clear brown. No head. Malty. Sweet and caramel. Berry streak. Underlying cardboard. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Sugary and sour but ultimately a damp.squib of a Gold.

Cask at Bird in Hand, Stafford. Pours a murky dark brown with a small cream head. The aroma has malts and milk chocolate. In the mouth it is smooth and sweet with flavours of honey, biscuits and malts. A little bitterness comes in later along with hints of liquorice. Bitterness increases in the finish, but still not overwhelming. This is a decent porter.

Bottled. Copper coloured with a small off-white creamy head. Aroma is sugary sweet toffee, mild nutty notes, some alcohol as well as mild ripe fruits. Flavour is ripe fruits, some toffee mild floral notes as well as some alcohol, mild sweetish malts and nutty notes.
