16 oz. can. Pours black, with a big, foamy, brown head. The aroma is chocolate syrup, bright strawberry, chalk, cinnamon, and caramel. Very sweet and malty, with a hint of bitterness. Medium to heavy body, with a malty and smooth finish. Delicious!

Dark brown, on the nose with a butterscotch character - ok, that's caramel flavour. On the palate that caramel is pretty prominent, some chocolate and a fair bit of alcohol. A bit clunky, but maybe that's just me not digging the caramel character.

500mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out lots of dark sugars, earthy cocoa and a hint of barrels. Flavour is chocolatey and barrel-heavy, with lots of dark cocoa, dark sugars, and a hint of bourbon barrels. Lots of dark sugars, kind of murky, with a sugary bourbon finish. Not the most complex or elegant BA impie, but it's solid.

16 oz. Aroma is grainy, lightly grassy. Pours nearly clear golden with a one+ finger bone white head with excellent retention. Taste has a mild to moderate bitterness.

Can from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours slightly translucent gold with a large creamy head that turned to lacing froth. Aroma of earth and pale fruit over lightly roasty malt. Med body. Flavor is earth, pale stone fruit, and something like a mushroom. Quite dry. Decently bitter. It's even slightly astringent. Very different, but I like the flavor.

500ml bottle from Hops & Bottles. Near black pour, barely there bubbly head. Caramel aroma, sweet. More caramel in the taste, light barrel notes. One of the better show cases for caramel in a beer that I've had. Tasty, sweet. Not overly strong.

500 ml. Aroma has notes of bourbon, chocolate, sherry, raisin, vanilla, toffee. Pours very dark brown to black with a thin beige head that settles into a ring quickly. Taste is moderately to highly sweet with a lightly bitter edge. Slightly salty. Strong caramel flavor, also bourbon, coffee, sherry. Good, but pretty rich.

16 oz. Aroma has notes of chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, roast, caramel, dark bread. Pours black with a thin beige head that falls into a ring pretty quickly. Taste is lightly to moderately sweet with a lightly bitter edge. Tastes a lot like Neapolitan ice cream with all three flavors fully represented, with some leafy hop presence in the background. Velvety mouthfeel. Underrated.
