Bottle labeled only as "Porter" pours a very dark opaque brown. Nice creamy tan head and lasting heavy lacing. Mostly chocolate and meduim dark roast aroma. Flavor is very roasty and charcoaly, but not very bitter or strong. Quite thin and even watery feel. Late slightly bitter sour flavor that is common with the style. Overall tasty but I like al heavier palate.

Bottle Pours a clear, very dark redish brown with a small light tan head. Lacing is soptty. Woody, and fruity aroma. Raisons, pitted fruit, licorice. Flavor is similar, a bit vinous, lightly smokey, a bit sweet and of dark brown sugar, and plums. Some alcohol nets as well, but does not detract Thin but slick feel and fairly lively carbonation.

Bottle Pours a clear medium redish brown, with a very nice full and lasting sandy head. Thick and cliingly lacing. Aroma is of a mild IPA. NW hops and a fairly sweet, light, for the style maltiness. Inviting actually. Flavor is very mild and subdues. Yes, caramel and woody, lightly toasted malts. Very creamy and softly carbonated feel. Slight woody nip at the end but lacking ay true bitternes. I may say that this is an excellent session beer. Middle of the road, and not daring in any way, but drinkable and very nice. One of the few times that I actually read the commercial description took a sip and thought "..hey, yeah...that’s toatlly right!" Yum !

Bottle Pours a cloudy murkey yellow with a thin white head. Malty german hef aroma. bananas and a littel spice. fairly mild though. Flavor is nice and fruity. Rather dominated by the banana flavors and a nice soft wheat body. Very soft carbonation. The 22 I had was filled to withing 1/4" of the cap. Sweet begginging, middle and end. Not as spicy as the style would dictate but I found it very nice and quite drinkable. Somewhat americanized German Hef I’d say.

BottlePours a rather pale amber with a nice off white head. Sheeting lacing. Basic IPA aroma, hoppy but not distict citrus or pine. Flavor seemed fairly ballanced but again not specific hoppy bitterness. A bit pale for a "double" but otherwise passable. Medium body and fairly soft carbonation.

22 oz. Bottle. Pours out a nice amber with a little off white head. A very nice pine hop aroma. Has a bitter tast.

Cask Dark brown; small brownish head. Licorice, dark malts, rather bready & hints of Belgian yeast; Sweet; little bitterness, rounded malt (dark) flavours, chocolate and green wood. Well-bodied, roasted but not smokey. Strange "Scottish" but pleasing brew. Bottled version, thanks to DGS No idea I had had it, but nice comparison. Nose suggests moderate sweetness, bready, dark candi sugar. Dry, near piney aroma. Taste is more bitterish, with again piney flavours, very dry, near wry. Less liquoriceflavour. . Well bodied. Nice brew, botttled too. Why the Bastard fell, probably Stone can tell?

Draught Orangey, slight haze; no head (surprise, surprise). Very orangy, kumquat-like, or orange marmelade hops, combined with the dry, hopsacks aroma. Cookie or cake malt, hops explosion, again very marmalade-like. Slighty burning, medium bodied. Stereotypic, yes, but certainly not the worst.

Reddish-brown. Smells sweet with plummy brown sugar action. Sweet but with mild acidity. Good balance. I had this a few years ago at the brewpub and hated it; nice to see that it is better now.
