Bottle before the release @ Beerlovers bar. Pours similar to the base , just as well as the smell and taste. i'll more describe the differences in both here. It has def. got more 'almonds', bit more sweetness as wel, more towards the caramel. Not as bitter as the regular one. Mild notes of the oak. Works better than the base for me.

Bottle before the release @ Beerlovers Bar. Pours a bit amber, small white head. Smell is medium malty, thick sweetness, breadcrust, very caramelly. Decent bitterness. Taste is medium-high bitterness. Very caramelly, complex malts, lasting bitterness, as well as some caramel. Nice Barleywine.

Tripel brewed for De Reuzen, the association behind the traditional, folkloristic procession of giants; executed by Cabardouche and sampled at BCBF. Moussy, lacing, snow white head, almost clear 'old gold' robe. Aroma of dried banana, butter (probably diacetyl), apple, white bread, grass, raw cauliflower, bird seed, gin. Restrainedly sweetish onset, hard pear and unripe banana notes (more so than the expected sweet banana ester), apple-ish sourish accent, minerally carbonation, smooth mouthfeel. Cereally malt core with thin and clean bready edges, herbal and grassy, floral hop bitterishness in the finish alongside gin-like, warming alcohol. Your classic, easygoing, accessible but correct Belgian tripel, not sweet like so many other ones these days, but nothing exciting - clearly aimed at the larger masses.

(Thank you!) Sampled 330 ml. bottle @ Billie's Craft Beer Fest 2017. Orange golden. Nose is bit thin, some fish guts, too BE with esters. Taste is basic sweet, bit thin with BE esters, low fish guts, caramel, sugar, syrup. Bit too BE in profile & touch thin, not bad but I liked the BA a lot more where the BE flourishes which don’t fit this style for me were obscured. Still nice beer.

(Thank you!) Sampled 330 ml. bottle @ Billie's Craft Beer Fest 2017. Orange golden. Nose is interesting syrupy basic sweet sugary whisky, caramel with Sichuan pepper sweetness. Bit thin especially at this ABV, otherwise lovely sweet sugar whisky, sweet oak, caramel, candy, low Turkish delight, way better than the base beer. Really nice stuff.
