About
Beavertown was founded in 2011 by Logan Plant, the son of Robert Plant, singer with Led Zeppelin. At first established as a brewpub in De Beauvoir Town, East London as part art of the Duke's Brew and Que experience. Expanding means moving! In 2012 to Hackney Wick and in 2014 to Tottenham Hale.

In June 2018, it was announced that Heineken would be buying a minority stake, so that Beavertown could spend £40 million on a new brewery and visitor site. The new brewery was launched in 2020, with a capacity of 500,000 hectolitres, a ten-fold increase in their previous capacity.

As of 7 September 2022 Heineken has taken complete control of Beavertown and now has 100 per cent ownership. Founder Logan Plant will stay on as an adviser.

Tight white head on a n unclear dark amber coloured body. Zesty, sour & oaked aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a light tingle on the back & dry aft. Citrus, woody, white wine, earthy & delicately spiced tastes with a sour finish. Quite nice.

[ As Beavertown Crosstown Pastry Stout ].
ABV: 12.0%. Clear dark dark red brown colour with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, sweet malt, dark malt, cake - doughnut - crème brulee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, cake - doughnut - crème brulee like, chocolate, vanilla, dark malt, sweet malt. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20220411]

--Sample, thanks oh6gdx! -- Black, mid sized brown head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate mud cake. Sweet with full body and mildly viscous mouthfeel. Syrup and chocolate mud cake, lots of coffee. Medium bitterness in a rather boozy finish. The unpleasant cakeyness isn't too powerful here, but it still overpowers any nuances.

Draft. An unclear golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of pineapple, oranges, hops, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of hops, pineapples, oranges, and malt, leading to a bitter finish.

Can, big bubbly head, hazy and just a touch pale orange color, aroma of dough and sweet spices with rubber and a bit of mango, ripe mango flavor with some dough and yoghurt behind, medium fruity sourness, salty hint. Nice.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Fair Deal. Pours clear brown with a small, creamy khaki head. Lightly sweet, notes of toasted brown bread, earth, leaves, vague cocoa. Light bodied with fine carbonation. OK balance to finish butba bit bland, more brown bread, very subtle toasted malts, nips of raisins. Tastes and feels a bit like a very average cask stout that’s been on the line a couple days. The condition is not great. It’s wild that Beavertown, a once great brewery, can put out something so bland and out of shape.
