12 ounce bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized creamy off-white head. Good head retention. Aroma of chocolate, smoke and mild roastiness. The taste is smoke, roasted malts, chocolate, a bit of coffee, mild hops. Medium bodied, well balanced. Nice beer.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a nearly murky orange color with a huge foamy white head. Average head retention. Aroma of wheat, perfume notes, earth, citrus. The taste is citrus, spice, wheat. Medium bodied, lingering spice, very dry.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy orange color with a frothy off-white head. Good head retention. Aroma of artificial strawberry, a bit of a fresh tartness, some citrus in there. The strawberry dominates. The taste is dry wheat. crackery notes, strawberry, thankfully not as artificial as the aroma. Lots of spice and a bit of citrus. Medium bodied, lingering spice. Not terrible.

Pours black with a fading head.Nose shows sweet malt with roasted overtones and hints of chocolate. Somewhat subtle.Sweet flavours too, almost baltic porter-like but without the roast to support it. Cloying.Body feels a little watery.

Pours ruby-tinted amber with a large, lasting head.Heavy malt on the nose along with piny resinous hops. Very malty aroma.Very malty flavours too, clean sweet malt throughout. Also piny and minty hops with a bit of resinous bitterness in the finish.Carbonation is a little aggressive.

Total Wine, Fairfax: Pours yellow with white head. Aroma is light citrus hops. This is not a hefe. it is a hoppy wheat ale. Is it the worst thing ever? No, not really, but I am not surprised that other people were unpleasantly surprised by this beer.

Capped 750 from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours very dark brown with a creamy/foamy tan head. Aroma is primarily chocolate, but there’s a touch of booze. Med body. Ale is just a bit towards sour. There’s a chocolate base, certainly some heat, and with time some bourbon and oak. I’m thinking some beastie got into the barrel and did the nasty. More lactic than brett - but something related. Probably the best thing that could have happened to the beer. Finishing nicely towards sour. Hope others get lucky! Enjoying this.

Bottle. Better Beer Of The Month Club. Dark brown to black-colored with a beige to light brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, a bit of coffee, roastiness and mild smokiness. Bitterish roasty flavor with a bit of sweetness, some chocolate, a bit of coffee, malt and a bitter finish with some smokiness, a bit ashy. Medium-bodied. Pretty good.

Bottle. Better Beer Of The Month Club. Cloudy dark orange to amber color with an off-white head. Aroma has alcohol, piney hops, somewhat resinous, slightly stale, a bit of fruitiness and some caramelly and slightly honey-ish malt. Flavor of sweetish malt, a bit caramelly, light grainy notes, and a bitter finish with hops, slightly stale, and light alcoholic notes. OK, but that’s it.
