341 ml bottle. Pours a thick hazy amber with light head and lots of carbonation. Aromas of applesauce and phenolic esters. Flavors follow same with dull artificial fruit. I think that’s the mangos...

341 ml bottle. Pours a reddish mahogany with moderate head. Aromas and flavors of biscuity malts and toasted caramel with a dry grassy finish. Not too impressive, but not offensive.

650mL bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of cocoa upfront, with a little chili peppers. Flavour is very thin, with dry cocoa and light chili pepper spiciness. Thin and weak, without any complexity. No good.

Medium brown. There isn’t much head. On the nose, This has a light chocolatey note on the, but it’s thin and has little nuance. This has a chocolate note on the palate, maybe with light spice. Pretty simple, and doesn’t bring much of that Mexican character.

Cask - Stale pale malts and just a hint of fruit. Cloudy gold with a decent beige head. Berries and touch of light acidity. Very plain considering what it is likely supposed to be.

650ml bottle from Pacific Liquor store in PoCo. Commander Reserve 2013, bottle #553 of 600. Pours an almost black with a brown head. Aroma is dark fruits, roasted malt, some vanilla, leather, roasted seeds and chocolate notes. Taste is pretty the same with low to moderate sweetness and low bitterness. Slightly dry, dark roasted malt, some chocolate notes aftertaste. Very good!
