Dark brown, has a thinnish coffee note, and this is a hint of earthy sweet coffee. Not sure what the point of this is.

650ml at Matt’s place. Aroma and taste good balanced: roasted malt, some caramel and fruits. Not bad.

Bottle - Bit of chocolate and some sweet dark malts. Deep brown with a decent light brown head. Sweet dark malts and a touch of lactometer notes. OK.

650mL bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out notes of lactose upfront, followed by cocoa and a tiny touch of roast. Flavour is along the same lines, with lactose upfront, followed by cocoa and roast. Medum-bodied, with moderate-high sweetness. Decent stuff.

Tasting at Matt’s
Dark brown to black color. The aroma is bready, malty, some cardboard. Moderately sweet, not much character, some dark caramel and that’s all. Quite boring.

Draft - Sweet Passionfruit and a touch of grapefruit. Hazy yellow with a nice white head. Very fruity and sweet, like juice. I can see where this would shine, just a bit too sweet and fruity for me.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Murky blond color, compact head. The aroma is fruity and nice, pineapple, papaya; the flavor is remarkably absent, the mouthfeel is dry and weak, and the final is missing. Inoffensive watery Ale.

No surprise that this has been the best seller at the bar over the last weekend, welcome to Vancouver, folks!

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of melon and canteloupe upfront. Flavour is pretty much along the same lines, bringing out tons of tropical fruits, especially melon, canteloupe and some pineapple. It delivers what it promises. A refreshing, vibrant tropical fruit bomb. Pretty nice for what it is.

650ml bomber. Fast dissipating soda pop head and soda water carbonation. Soft citrus, some cereal on the nose, not much. Flavour is a lot of cloying alcohol and missing any crispness or refreshing aspects that one might expect from a pilsner. Not impressed by this one.

650 ml bottle. Pours black with a short tan head of big bubbles that dissipate quickly. Aromas of plasticy chocolate syrup. Light flavors of chocolate, milked espresso and oily roasted malts.
