Cask at Max's. Umm it's just the regular beer with not peppers. Wait, wait a second. Just a faint tickle at the very end that reminds me of pepper burn. This is if La Coix made a seltzer named Hint, Hint of Pepper.

Draft at Main St Bottle Shop in Rock Hill. Confusingly called Edgar Allen Poe the Cask on Untappd. More confusingly stated there to be brewed at Baltimore Washington Beer Works, which Ratebeer thinks is in Hamburg Germany. Whatever. I hope this review is in the right place. Dark clear brown. Aroma of licorice and herbs. Taste is herbal spice and roast. Weird

12oz can. No date but fresh in stores. Black beer. Thin halo lacing. Aroma is moderate with some light ashy black malts and a little dry paper. But that's covered up by a mild sweet black malt syrup. Mild acidty through aroma and flavor. Flavor ends with a bit of sweetness. Maybe a bit of mineral off the oysters but I can't really tell. It's a decent stout otherwise.

Bottle @ home. Clear dark amber to amber-brown color, average to medium sized off-white to beige head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is malts, dark dried fruits, raisins. Taste malts, raisins, dark fruits, dried fruits, some caramel notes, dark malts, a touch of brown candy sugar. Decent to medium body and carbonation. Quite nice, quite solid. I like it, very well executed imo.

Bottle @ home. A bit unclear pale yellow golden color, virtually no head. Smell and taste wheat, a bit sweetish, slightly some spices perhaps. Not too bad, but not great either.

Dark brown with quick fading head. Aroma and flavour have lots of sweet malts and dried fruit like raisins. Also some milk chocolate and caramel. It's not too sweet though.

Bottle. Clear gold with an off-white head. The aroma is fruity citrus and pine. Well balanced flavor with a nice hop bitterness.
