Winterfest 2016. Excellent beer. I did not know at the time that Czar Jack was the base. Aroma has chocolate and lots of raspberry. Well roasted malt, sweet, some alcohol is noticeable on the palate. Thick and heavy palate, a sweet dessert beer.

Draft at Northern Lights. Hazy deep amber maroon color, medium white head. Aroma has vanilla, cherry, coconut, light booze. Taste is candied cherry liqueur with coconut. Odd.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours black with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of vanilla with a bit of milk chocolate and a hint of sweet dark grains. Flavor is also full of vanilla with the addition of milk chocolate and a hint of sweet dark grains.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear amber orange with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has a nice grass note with a bit of pine, sweet grains and a hint of pine. Flavor has more grains with grass supporting and a hint of bread and straw.
