Sample at Great Taste of the Midwest on 08/09/2014: Slightly hazy yellow-gold color with a medium white head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of hops, yeast and malt. Medium body with flavors of fruity hops, herbal yeast and malt. The finish is fruity with a hoppy aftertaste. Above average overall.

Sample at Great Taste of the Midwest on 08/09/2014: Pours a cloudy dark brown color with amber around the edges. Medium light beige head that diminishes steadily, and partial rings of lacing. Aroma of bourbon, malt and caramel. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, caramel malt and dark fruit. The finish is boozy with an oaky vanilla and malt aftertaste. Enjoyable beer all around.

Sample from 2012 batch at Great Taste of the Midwest on 08/09/2014: Inky black color with a medium tan head that diminishes gradually. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate and coffee. Medium to full body with a subtle boozy character and flavors of chocolate malt, coffee and sweet caramel. The finish is roasty with a malty aftertaste. Good beer all around.
