Dark red and nearly still without carbonation. Red color. Lots of oak, dry, some vanilla. Minimal hops. The fruit shows up in the sour flavor, which makes this beer much like a Flemish ale. Town Halls most innovative new recipe in some time.

Hops everywhere, with a fresh, west coast flavor. Bitter hop aroma, and the flavor has grapefruit and pine. Light malt, a successfully unbalanced beer that is focused on the hops.

Tons of coffee character in this beer. Black, with an unusually thick and heavy palate. Ground coffee in the flavor, but the lactose is well hidden, which is fine because I dont like lactose flavor. Lots of sweet malt.

Lots of yeast in this beer. Malt aroma, and quite dry for the style. Lacking in complexity, no spices. The alcohol is well hidden. Considerable hops for the style.

Growler from the brewpub, shared at a Chiefs tailgate. Pour is ruby brown, clear with a 2 inch light tan head and great settling. Aroma of soft malty peatiness, some brown sugar sweetness. Taste is malty, the same sweetness. Palate is medium, on the lighter side. Good clean scotch, though not the most complex.

Shaker pint draft at the brewpub. Hazed brown orange pour with no head. Served really cold. Aroma of wheat, clove and some ripe banana fruit. A touch of earthiness. Taste is hefe - with a bit of roasted flavor to the back. Get the cloves, citrus and bananas. Nothing too big or overpowering. Nice enough Dunkel.

Pint pour @ the brewpub. Comes to the table with a strong, fluffy, pillow-y, beautiful head. When it fades the lacing is super sticky. Aroma is, as advertised, ’fresh hop’ with lightly green, lightly sweet, and lightly resiny hops. The cascades come off beautiful. Aroma has some bitterness coming off of it as well. Taste has a bit of that caramel maltiness but not strong enough to make it cloying or too sweet. Plenty of hops and very drying aftertaste. Its a damn good all hop beer that’s not coming out of California.

Pint pour @ the brewpub. Comes to the table with no head at all, looks dead. Color is dark orange that is just a bit hazy. Aroma is thick maltiness with some sweet spices coming through and pie crust below that. Other spices associated with pumpkin in there as well. Taste is less malty, thinner and a bit watery. Less on the pie crust aspects and more on the spices. Flavor was a bit spritz-y in the end, average mouthfeeel otherwise.

Tap @ Town Hall for anniversary week. Color is dark reddish brown. Comes to me with a small head that is rather sticky. Cannot see through the beer, just looks thick and solid. Of course the beer is served too cold but even with that the aroma is very strong with rummy, syrupy alcohol. After that there is alcoholic raisin bread. Get the point? The bigness of the beer is great and the alcohol works well with the other thick dark bread-y aspects of the aroma. Taste is sweet malty cherry with just some light alcoholic astringency. The mouthfeel is nice a thick but yet enough carbonation felt as well. The mouhfeel really helps the beer out. Its strong, that’s for sure.

Growler provided by beastiefan2k for the 10/18 tasting. Pour is mostly clear golden with a white head. Aroma of smoke, barbecue, smoked ham. Really not much else, though, smoke is in no way overpowering. Taste is maltiness, with a nice gentle smokiness surrounding and enveloping the taste. Really nice melding of the smoke. Palate is medium thin, coats nicely, though still very drinkable. This was a really nice beer, thanks for hauling it back for the crew Eugene. Beer of the night for the tasting.
