11/12/11/11//12

Enjoyed both on tap as well as cask conditioned at the Vogelbrau in Karlsruhe, DE. This was hands down the best beer I enjoyed during this most recent trip to Germany. Appearance was a slightly muddy brownish gold with a rich white head. Aroma mostly of yeast and malt, smell was nice. The taste was the best part, bursting with yeast and bitter notes, this tasted incredibly fresh and delicious. There is no way you can bottle this one, must be enjoyed fresh from the brewery. Extremely good.

Enjoyed on tap after receiving a quick tour with co-workers at the Vogel brewery in Karlsruhe, DE. I didn’t take tasting notes for this, but I remember this having pronounced banana/vanilla notes with a light clove, and a fantastic bright orange/yellow hue with a rich head. I would consider this weiss beer between middle to high tier when compared against the other weiss beers I have enjoyed. Good job!

The head is medium, the body red. It tastes malty, hoppy, amber, flowery. Nice enough.

Draught at the brewpub in Durlach
It has a cloudy orange color with compact head. Nice aroma of biscuity malts. Some malt and caramel flavor, maybe the bitterness is just a bit too much. Similar to most other Vogel beers, not for this bad.

Heller, sehr hefiger Beginn mit Kaffeenoten. Süffig, hell malzig, stimmig. Dann trocken werdend, leicht alkoholisch (was überrascht). Süffiges und nettes Bier ohne Besonderheiten. 10/9/10/10//10

Süßlicher, dunkel malziger Beginn. Röstmalzig, dabei süßer werdend. Dann aber herber und bitterer als gedacht. Vollmundig, nicht trocken. 11/10/9/10//9
