Description
Our brewery opened in July 2013. The brewery moved at the beginning of 2018 to the Rue des Lignes in Angoulême, a stone's throw from the railway lines. We are of course continuing to brew our beers and develop our range, but above all a real winery has been created, as well as a Taproom dedicated to the on-site consumption of our beers and a space dedicated to take-out. Equipped with a 50 HL brewhouse and new fermenters, we can more easily offer contract brewing, as well as wort production for spirits.

Draught sample. Muddy, dark amber colour with bubbly, off-white head. Sweet aroma with cognac barrel, ripe fruits, caramel, toasted notes. Taste is sweet. Full body, with an oily feel and a soft carbonation. Finishes long lasting sweet with lingering cognac barrel. Lovely barrel ageing.

Bottle from a beer bar in Angouleme. Despite the age (I bought it some 2 months ago) it still remains not only a very good beer but also a very good representation of style (IMO). Lots of bitterness, also moderate roastiness which some ban from CDA but I do not. Citrusy, roasty, grassy flavours. Very nicely balanced, easy drinking. I did not hope for much but I got much. Let the numbers tell the story.

Bottle from Angoulleme, I forgot from where exactly. Golden colour. Lots of spices though not cleanly traditional. Also more body than needed, seems rough and some high alcohols. Good but not stellar.

Bottle from Cave a Bulles. Pours hazy dark copper with a slight beige head. Aroma is nice treacle (tho not really much molasses) with some brandy aspects. Med + body. Flavor is brown sugar/ttreacle with some musty wood and brandy notes. There’s a little heat, but it isn’t objectionable - just a flavor enhancement. Despite the "sugar", it’s not really sugary/sweet. Personally, I think calvados barrels would have been the better choice, or at least "fresher" cognac barrels, but this is really smooth and tasty, even if the flavors aren’t "extreme". I consider myself fortunate to have found this.

Bottle from Cave a Bulles. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Aroma is earthy with a touch of pale fruits. Med body with fairly strong carbonation. Flavor is earthy, fruity, maybe somewhat grainy (not in a bad way). Probably more fruit than a saison might usually ave, but it’s a tasty beer.

Bottle from Cave a Bulles. Pours dark brown wiht a tan head. Aroma is hoppy. Med body, almost. There’s strong carbonation. Flavor is smooth burnt malt and quite a dose of hop. A session Black IPA with a lot of flavor for 3%! Finishes bitter, and I think somewhat chocolate.
