Bottle at home, acquired at La Cave à Bulles, Paris. Aroma is malt, caramel, lots of wood, toffee, cognac, sweet dried fruits, vanilla, hoppy notes in the finish. Flavour is sweet and moderate bitter. Body is above medium, bit sticky. Very oaky barrel notes, mild cognac, big caramel toffee malt and dried fruits from the hops. A fine Barley Wine.

Bottle from Hopt. Aroma is oak, cherries, dark bready malt, caramel, tart red grapes, vinous notes, cognac, dried dark fruits, raisins, toffee, with a hint of bretty funk. Flavour is fairly tart with a definite rich sweet touch, light bitterness and sourness. Body is above medium. What a surprise, this slightly funky and vinous cognac cherry wee heavy. Lovely!

Bottle from Hopt. Aroma is dark malt, fruity hops, pine resin, coffee, citrus, roast, touch of grapefruit and dark chocolate. Flavour is moderate sweet and medium bitter. Body is medium. Nicely roasty and hoppy, good Black IPA!

Bottle from Wijn & Whiskyhuis Nijverdal. Aroma is yeasty and grassy with soft hop, pale wheaty malt, mild fruity, peppery yeast, floral and herbal notes, soft citrus with zesty lemon. Flavour is light sweet and mildly bitter. Body is medium. Nice yeasty peppery Belgian yeast and grassy floral-ish hop combo.

Bottle from Hopt. Aroma is fruity with lots of pineapple, milky lactose, mild hops, and some citrus. Flavour is lightly tart and a bit sweetish with a light bitterness. Body is medium. Mildly hoppy with fruity pineapple and that slightly clashing sweetish lactose... Overall not that bad, for a milkshake pale.

Bottle from Hopt. Nasty aroma includes milk gone bad with a shitload of manure. Sour flavour, body is light. Simply a foul beer which should never have been made commercially available. Shame on you La Débauche.

Bottle from Beerwulf. Aroma is dark malt with coffee, cocoa, chocolate, roast, caramel, touch of (salty) liquorice. Flavour is medium sweet with a moderate roasty bitterness. Body is medium to full. Solid Stout, I get plenty of coffee in particular.

Bottle from Beerwulf. Aroma is roasted malt with chili, chocolate, some coffee, liquorice, and caramel. Flavour is sweet with a mild and pleasant chili burn. A little roasty bitterness. Body is medium to full. Nice chili aroma and bite, some roast and chocolate, bit too much liquorice.
