From a 50 cl bottle, thanks to Mirren (not on ratebeer). What I wrote down from the bottle:Zlatá Český Výrobek, Jan Halada - Medovina, Křivoklátský Med, Ochranná Známika.Sampled on January 3, 2014.Clear golden color, no head. Sweet, cream, hints of berry, toffee scent, very nice! Sweet, some alcohol, toffe taste, again very nice! Toffee, cream aftertaste. Smooth, full mouthfeel no bitterness.I usually don’t like the "very sweet" meads as much as I do the dryer ones, but his one handles the sweetness very well and do not go too much for the raisins drenched in sugar. I’d have this again! (And I did this evening too, courtesy of my host).

At the big Tesco in central Bratislava. This one is apparently brewed with hops. Golden-brown body, somewhat dark for a mead, still. Buttery spicy nose, raisins. The taste is a nice surprise after that, sure, still buttery, but carrying berry-muffin-like notes, on top of some regular notes of fermented honey and a big alcohol burn... more warming than expected. Likable stuff.

Bottle, courtesy of Papsoe. A clear, golden mead with some bubbles round the rim. Licorice and honey on the nose, quite flowery too, and with a touch of some vanilla. The flavor is really pleasant, licorice and honey blends nicely with the smooth alcohol touch. The vanilla found in the aroma is present, but not as evident. Full-bodied and oily, slightly warming. A wonderful mead, tasteful as hell, and really pleasant to drink. 100813

Bottle, 18%. Coffee syrup aroma, caramelly with some vanilla and perhaps even hazelnut or something. Clear dark golden colour. The flavour is very sweet with some vanilla and a bit of apple freshness. Gets a bit too sweet in the finish, very sugary.

Hazy golden color. Strong aroma of fudge and toffee; it smells more like some hazelnut ice cream or candies. Very sweet, syrupy, it has the texture of a liquor, still with more flavor of fudge than honey. I like it because sweet, but I’m very doubtful.
