well, well, this one was opened with me below and that i regretted, cause it burped and poured all over my legs. I was very busy watching bloomberg and the financial crisis (some dude being interviewed who knows what he’s talking about) so i noticed it only when my pants were quite wet.. there there . err, back to the review... appearance : pours a large head, which seems thin and soap-like. Great aroma, citrus and wheat. flavor is "me too" wheat and alc, but it never gets to WOW, which some wheat beers manage. flavor way more ordinary than the aroma. Overall a wheat beer wannabe like most others. It still seems the germans are the masters in that universe.

aroma : pine, sweet stuff, very slight fruityness. a bit sweeter than most ipa’s. strong aroma. Appears muddy orange, yellow thick head. flavor is quite hoppy, nicely balanced by sweet malts, aftertaste keeps the balance, bitterness tastes good too. not a session beer, too powerful in the flavor for than (alc. up there too).

Dieses IPA steht unfreiwillig schon länger im Keller - ich habe es erst jetzt wiederentdeckt, das MHD liegt 8 Monate zurück. Kann ein IPA da noch hopfig sein? Kann es. Kurz malziger Antrunk, danach bleibt die Malznote kräftig, wirkt aber eher im Hintergrund. Der Hopfen ist süßlich und wirkt kontrastreich zum Malz im Vordergrund. Der Hopfen kann sich nicht mehr steigern, wird aber etwas grasig und zum Ende bitter. Durch die malzige Hintergrund Note wirkt das Ganze nicht mehr allzu frisch, dafür aber eher würzig. Im Abgang wird das Bier noch einmal hopfig und würzig. Angenehm! Test vom 24.9.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,10,11,12,12,11 - 10,85

Bottled. A slightly hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of spices as well as lighter notes of caramel, anise, ginger, and cardemomme. The flavor is sweet malty and very spicy, leading to a dry spicy finish.

Draught at EBF08. Very muddy orange colour. Very small white head. The flavour and aroma are spicy and wheaty. Standard Hefeweizen. Slightly slimy mouthfeel.

Big fine-laced beige lasting head. Opaque black body. Earthy grainy roasty aroma with notes of wort. Sweetish burnt licorice and earthy grain taste with light body. Light acidic vinegary notes. The aftertaste is the same. Not bad. (0.1l taster draft at EBF ’08.)

Hazy yellow with huge white head. Sweet yeasty aroma with fruity and coriander notes. Sweet flavour with a twist of orange, yeast, spices and caramel notes. Ends sweet.

From tap. Pours hazy yellow with a lacing white head. Aroma is mild wheaty and light estery fruity. Sweet and fruity flavoured with a mild banana and orange fruity note. Smooth yeasty and floral finish.

Draught at European Beer Festival, Copenhagen. Muddy straw colour, persistant head. Perfumy floral nose. Sweet and spicy with soft doughy malt. Estery Tiger Balm takes over and dominates. Drinkable, but the Tiger Balm os too powerful.

Bottle. Nice brown head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, licorice, coffee and chocolate.
