deep golden color. Nose is a bit all over the place. Full bodied, modestly bitter but not balanced. Simple, but not horrible.

Bottle from the farm. Black, with a tall, tan, airy head. Nose is milk chocolate, cafe au lait. Rich malt flavor, milk chocolate and coffee, roasty, bitter, slightly fruity. Very creamy, moderately sweet, with a roasty, slightly hoppy bitter finish. Decent schwarz.

Bottle from the farm. Deep gold, almost amber. Tall, rocky head. Nose is honey malts and peppery hops. Sweet honey malt, bicuits, not ll that lager like. Light citrus, pepper, bitter finish. Hmmm. Not bad but nothing like the lagers they used to make. Feels rushed, almost like a golden ale. Too sweet as well.

Bottle from the park. Rich honey malt nose with diacetyl. Light lemony hops. Clear, deep gold with a tall, rocky head. Super sweet flavor, honey, cream, butter, herbs, grass, lemon. Finish is slightly boozy and very creamy. Quite starkly bitter too. Even though this is nearing its drink-by date, it feels young, like it wasn't lagered properly. The diacetyl makes it seem kind of Bohemian but there is far too much of it. Still drinkable but not so good.

Tap at Moku Moku Kyoto restaurant. Deep red, clear, with a high head. Nose is malty caramel, chocolate, cherries, some apple. Deep, rich flavor, slightly sweet, chewy, chocolate fudge, fruits, but of alcohol. Nicely balanced, good strong ale.

Bottle at home. Orange golden colour with small off white bubbly head. Aroma is bananas, bubblegum biscuity malt in there too. Something slightly spicy too, and a touch of clove and pears. Taste is nice. Less banana, more pear, wheat and biscuits, quite creamy and a touch of lemon too. Really easy drinking. Really nice.
