Tasting at Papsø
Cloudy deep blond color. The aroma is light, with some malt and dirty water. Weak body, light malt flavor, with hay, cereals; the final is a bit metallic. Poor and rather unprofessional.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours golden with a slight haze with a white head. Fruity nose with a slight tartness. Medium body, very sweet malts and fruit with a vague yeasty and phenollic touch. Subdued bitterness. Nowhere near a Classic! 010410

Bottle. Dark, actually very dark brown body, but not black, topped by a dense, beige head. Dried fruits, a little sour note, vanilla, coffee and licorice in the aroma. Quite complex, but still not top notch. The flavor has a good dash of sweetness, followed by roasted malt and dried fruits. Full to medium body. The finish is sweet and with dried fruits. Kinda strange imperial stout, but nice. Could be interesting with more hoppiness in it. (070705)

700 ml bottle. Dark red/brown body with a beige head. Complex aroma of coffee, liquorices, chocolate, roasted malt and even some vanilla. Flavor is a harmonic mixtures of all the above indigenes. More like an experimental Christmas ale than Imperial Stout. I like it anyway. And it just looks perfect.

Bottled. Murky and hazy brown colour with a rather small, longlasting head. Aroma is slightly roasted malts along with coffee and caramel. Flavour is pretty much the same, with some vanilla and licorace added.

Bottled 70 cl
Dark brown color, small steady cappuchino head. Alcohol, woody hops and dark coffee in the nose. Roasted malts, licorice, a bit sugary, some vanilla - whisky barrel notes. More interesting than good, but anyway underrated here.

Bottled. Dark brown, average sized beige head. Fruit ylicorice aroma, Sweet with estery winegums and black currant. Very fruity and medium bodied. Esters seem to provide nearly all the flavours, roasty malt is hardly visible, so as an imperial stout it would be disqualified in a homebrewing competition. However as a dark, estery Fantôme-like belgian ale it is perhaps amateurish but actually really good.
