About
In 2014, Sam Richardson, Matt Monahan and Andrew Burman founded Other Half Brewing Company, a local brewery in New York City with a simple mission: to create beers that they wanted to drink from a company that they wanted to be a part of. Their vision was to build a passionate team that brewed great beers in the state of New York—done so with effort and thoughtfulness—to represent the “Other Half” of the industry. Today, Other Half craft beers in their Brooklyn brewery and are dedicated to collaborating with breweries both in New York as well as across the world in an effort to constantly move the industry forward while elevating the craft. The Other Half team believes that local breweries play an important role in their communities which is why they partner with these other likeminded brewers and brands in local nabes across the country and the world—but always return to their home state of New York and their Brooklyn taproom.

PLEASE NOTE: As of 2023, Other Half no longer markets beers as "Double Dry Hopped". Instead, the DDH version is now listed as just the beer name, and the non-DDH version has been retired.

When entering a beer, please enter "Hop Showers" instead of "DDH Hop Showers" or "Hop Showers - DDH".

Draught @ Albion. Cloudy dark orange with very small frothy white head, floral hops aroma, medium carbonation, thin body, slightly bitter hoppy taste, medium finish with hops aftertaste. Not a bad IPA but tastes like a session IPA.

Tap at the bar next to The Wick or maybe part of same venue. Anyways had a few pints of this while playing corn hole with other ratebeerians. Orange pour small whispy head. Nose is oranges and earthy. Tastes of tangerines, lemon, bready, earthy, and malt. Touch musty on finish.

At WTWBA. Murky Yellow orange. Nose is wine and barnyard. Tastes mostly of Chardonnay, some hay, pepper, oak, lemon. Finishes somewhat boozy. Flavors are touch muddled and nothing really sings. But still not bad just not at other half normal level.

Bottle shared at craft beer co clerko. Thanks to Leighton for this one. Hazed golden orange coloured pour with a small off white head. Aroma is big dank hop, little caramel, vanilla, big spicy hop and some alcohol on the nose. Palate is velvety, semi sweet, chewy hop resin, moderate carbonation. Flavour is composed of big chewy hop resin, grassy and pine needles hops with dank note. Malt base is little caramel. Very clean for the abv. Remains very drinkable.

Can thanks to Leighton. It pours hazy orange with a small white head. The nose is soft, juicy, grassy, grapefruit, hay, straw, stewed orange, apricot, peach, floral and mild herbal. The taste is crisp, bitter, minerals, grapefruit, lemon rind, orange, light alcohol, pine needles and some dankness with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Drinks very easily given the abc. Mighty delicious.

Hazy orange color, small steady white head, some lace. Pine, rubber and hop oils in the nose. Medium-bodied. A bit heavy, malty DIPA. Lots of pine and resin. Slow DIPA with warming alcohol in the aftertaste.
