Description
Raphaël Mettler and his team have been brewing beer with a passion since 2003, and their enthusiasm is eminently contagious: the Trois Dames beers from Ste-Croix challenge the taste buds and flatter the eye, and that is exactly what makes them original. We believe in making a top-notch product, the reason why we carefully select fresh ingredients.

Bottled@omhper-post-SBWF-1st-weekend tasting. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is hops, fruits, some sourness and mild peachyness. Flavour is hops, fruits and rather caramelly. All this in a nice balance.

2006/8 vintage Deep orange-salmon colour, virtually no head. Fruity, again orange peel, but not much else - some grapefruitlike hops, maybe. Virtually the same taste as the original (non-raspberry) - added fruit is untraceable by me. Sharp MF, slightly better bottled than the IIPA. Misses more fruit to make it different. Merci au Capitaine!

2006 vintage Small orange head over hazy orange beer. Fruity, very citrus-aromatic beer, some speciality grain, very fresh-smelling. Bitter, orange/citruspeel, rootspices. Bitterish finish. Bit aggressive MF, and very well-bodied. Not bad, fruity, but a bit crude overall. Merci au Capitaine!

Bottled, thanks Bov! Very black, no head. Rich aroma of black cherries and dark chocolate, coffee comes along later. Dryish and dense with complex and interesting flavours of blueberry, cocoa and coffee. Light salty bitterness. Trois Dames is making it into my top list of Europe’s 10-20 best breweries I think!

Bottle 33cl. Pours amber with beige head. Aroma is hoppy (with the bitter nose), some light caramel malts. Taste is very hoppy, malty, floral and fruity with orange peel. Trois Dames has again managed to offer beers that are very unfamilar in Switzerland. Something that not everyone might enjoy. My Swiss family could not really bear the bitterness of Trois Dames’ IPA and Ale. I enjoyed their IPA a lot beter.
