On tap. Pours pale yellow. No particular aroma. Mostly sweet taste, a bit crisp, quite dry indeed. Lacks hops and bitterness, a bit watery.

On tap. Pours pale golden. No aroma to speak of. Taste is watery bitter, a bit of corny hops. Nothing outstanding, but better than other Australian ?standard? pub beers.

Bottle shared with wife. Sherbet sweet nose, a little ginger. Pale white wine appearance, medium carbonation. Clean mouthfeel, lots of apple. Can’t find any ginger in the taste. Sour finish. S’alright. Wait a minute! Ginger arrives very very late.

345ml into glass. Faint acidic smell. Cloudy carbonated pale green-yellow. Sour zingy mouthfeel, quite refreshing. Finish is sherbet with a hint of developing sourness. Drinkable thirst quencher. Made in Australia from local and imported ingredients. No apples, yeast or water in Australia then!

345ml bottle into glass. 1st cider review, but not 1st cider! Smells like vinegar and old meat! Not a good start. Pale yellow/green with bubbles, no head. Taste is sherbet-sweet. Finish is quick and clean. Industrial product (made in Australia from local and imported ingredients). Hmmm...Sydney tap water and cider syrup?

Ok, this is the cheapest of the cheap in the Tooheys stable so........750ml bottle (twist-top!) into schooner glass. Skunky nose from bottle, cooked vegetables from glass. Pale amber beer with many bubbles and lasting billowing white head. Has a chalky mineral water taste that zings on the tongue. Abrupt finish with a little malt, hard to find any hops in here. Actually palatable if you are desperate. Must be very cold. Lawnmower beer? Yes. BBQ beer? No.

375ml can into glass. I didn’t know they still made this. Nose is slightly hoppy, mostly cooked vegetables. Beer is dark copper with thin white head. A few bubbles. Watery and......watery. Finish is distant cardboard, a little malt then good old Aussie macro cooked vegetables. Not good but strangely given its low ABV, its colour and very low carbonation it could be the only Australian macro ’bitter’ that really is a bitter!

On tap at Mortdale pub. Schooner of black! Very faint malt nose. Dark ruby red with thin but lasting head. Spritzy but robust. Clean bitter finish with a little coffee/cocoa right at the end. Brown ale? More like a dark lager, I think.

330ml bottle into glass. Whooooaaah! Possibly the skunkiest nose ever! In the glass just smells like a sewer. No carbonation, good solid head. Tastes like chemicals,. Aftertaste is solvent with cabbage and alcohol and lollies. Try one, I dare you.
