Established in 2005, Jackie O’s Brewery has evolved over the years to include an experimental brewpub, Public House restaurant, Production Brewery & Taproom, Bake Shop and the Barrel Ridge Farm – all of which are located in Athens, Ohio / Southeastern, Ohio. Specializing in brewing techniques that revive traditional methods, we also incorporate contemporary elements and influences. We strive to brew one of the most diverse beer portfolios in the country, with a detailed and unique focus on barrel & wood aged beers, wild ales, and blending.

Bottle thanks to americanbrew. Bottle 31/156. Pours with a small white head and a hazy golden body. Aroma of orange, cream soda, funk, oak and perfume. Taste is orange, funk, perfume, citrus, sour and grainy. Light bubbles.

Bottle 124/156 thanks to americanbrew. Pours with a minimal head and a hazy golden body. Aroma of pine, earthy, tropical fruit and caramel. Taste is sweet, pine, herbal and alcohol. Creamy mouthfeel, lightish carbonation.

Sampled from a growler at the 2010 March Metro Detroit tasting. Poured black with a dark brown head. Aroma was full of sweeter notes with biscuit and a hint of butter. Flavor reminded me of a grain bin, with a sweet undertone of butter and vanilla.

Sampled from the growler at the 2010 March Metro Detroit tasting. Poured cloudy brown with a grey head. Aroma had sour and tart notes with a undertone of sweet grain. Flavor was a bit weak with a lighter sour note.

Growler at the 2010 March Metro Detroit tasting. Poured black with a medium brown head. Aroma was full of strong espresso notes and it dominated. Espresso was more under control in the flavor and it allowed the notes of a bit of hops and rye to come out.

Growler at the 2010 March Metro Detroit tasting. Poured gold with a pine hue and a nice white head. Aroma had sour fruit notes with some yeasty funk and acid. Flavor builds in sourness throughout with some underlying funk.

growler pours hazy brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is apple, rye bread, and white pepper. Flavor is oud brune in nature lots of sour apple juice and wood.

Growler share courtesy of markwise. It pours deep darkness with thin off white head. The aroma has an initial inviting note of creamy toffee candy followed by a modest amount of dark roasted malts and a light sense of sweet dark berries. The taste is sweet and then becomes vanilla all the while slowly edging toward sweet berry fruitiness. By midway it picks up a thin layer yet persistent layer of dark roasty malts.

RBWG 2010. Pours brownish red color with off white head. Aromas of sour cherries and chocolate. Flavors of sour cherries, chocolate, roasted malts, oand oak with some vinous notes. Medium body with body with moderate carbonation.

RBWG 2010 growler. Pours hazy brownish color with tan head. Sour cherry and vinegar aroma. Flavor is tart, sour cherries, woody and bready. Medium body with average carbonation.
