Description
Stark Brewing Company originally started back in 1994 as the Stark Mill Brewery. Stark Mill was the first brewery in the city and was brought to life through the efforts of Brewmaster Peter Telge. Peter is a Manchester native, born and raised here in the Queen City, and has been in charge of the brewery for over 20 years now. In 1999, the brewery underwent a rebranding to keep up with the times and opened back up as Milly's Tavern, named after Peter's favorite German Shepherd, who is honored in our logo. Stark Brewing Company is proud to continue its devoted legacy as being Manchester's only brewpub, bringing fresh beer, delicious food, and great times to the people of New England.

Draft from brewpub. Deep amber color in the pint. Great retention. Nose is a nice malt and sugar. Excellent flavors of caramel, candy sugar and some fruity German hops. This really is worth a try if you are in this part of NH. The hops balance the sweetness. I don’t taste the ABV at all. Very nice blend. Peter does a great job with this style. Well done!

Draft @ the brew pub. Served in a pint. I talked with the owner / brewmaster. He uses German yeast and you can tell! The nose is lots of clove and banana, with a hearty yeast body. Flavor was well balanced between the malt and the yeast, no hops at all here. Lightly sweet and refreshing with light citrus to go along with the banana and clove. The body is fuller and really makes it close to what you get in Germany. Excellent example of the style. And I will go back before the end of summer to get another few pints. High drinkability.

Draft at the pub. They will serve it with or without sugar around the rim. I got the sugar. Nice pumpkin spice nose. The sugar adds to the pumpkin pie likeness, “cinnamon and spice”. Good drinkability goes down REAL easy. Pumpkin is light and not over the top. Carbonation adds a nice tingle in the mouthfeel. With or without the sugar it’s a nice brew. Well crafted.

Draft at the pub. Pint glass. Light nearly clear yellow. Lively carbonation. Good amount of coriander. It was light and easy to drink however, by the end of the pint I didn’t want another one. I’m slowly shying away from this style over all. Still a nice brew, just depends what you are in the mood to drink.
