Cask handpull at Wenlock Arms. Distinctive whiff of simcoe hop. Leafy and a little tinny, but otherwise awesome. Great bitter, flavoursome grapefruit. The flowery hop aroma is wonderful. Needs either more malt to balance or hop blend to take the sharp simcoe edge off. Challenging.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Glossy black colour with a thin white head; faint honey aroma and some malt but less than I expected; quite sour when first tasted, but then full of syrupy aromatic honey; very sweet finish with an underlying smoky bitterness. Much too sweet for my taste, but well made.

(Cask at Wenlock Arms, London 27 Apr 2007) Dark brown colour with ruby notes, short beige head. Roasted nose with notes of chocolate, hints of coffee and some citrussy hops. Roasted, mild taste with chocolate, coffee and citrussy hops in the finish. Light body. Very drinkable and very tasty. Well done.

Cask gravity at London Drinker BF 07. Amber colour with thin off white head. Slgihtly farty aroma. Odd aroma. Decent bitter finish. Malts are ok but the aroma isn’t (my notes say something stronger abou the aroma).

Cask gravity London Drinker BF 07. Gold colour with thin head. Bit of cat’s pee. Astringent. Bit farty. Typical One Hop series beer with pale malts in the mouth, some dryish finish. Not the best. Bit thin really on the hop.

Cask at GBBF 2006. An orange beer with an off-white head. The aroma is sweet with light hoppy notes. The flavor is sweet malty combined with an OK hoppiness giving it primarily floral notes, but also some notes of oranges, leading to a dry bitter end.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Pale gold in colour, with a frothy white head; fresh hoppy smell, with a trace of yeast; chewy in the mouth with a sweet fruity start, and plenty of hops; leading to a pleasantly sharp grapefruit aftertaste. An excellent golden ale.

Cask handpull at Simple Simon’s, Canterbury. Black colour with tan head. Liquorice on aroma. Choc, dark roasted malt aroma. More liquorice and mocha coffee in mouth. Harsh roasted malt on end. Full of flavour stout. Pretty intense for a UK beer. Good choccy stout.
