(Cask at Wenlock Arms, London, 26 Nov) Golden amber colour with small white head. Fruity nose with notes of grapefruit, lemon and hops. Fruity, hoppy taste with grapefruit, lemon and apricots. Nice, hoppy finish. Hoppy, but rather one-dimensional.

Cask handpull at Simple Simons, Canterbury. Clear gold with lasting off white head. Hoppy aroma. Lovelyin mouth, right balance of pale biscuity malt with some later juicyness. Then dry hop finish. Hop is slightly astringent on aroma, but reasonably subtle on end. Utterly drinkable. Hop shows a little sherbert on finish. Another nice beer in this series

Cask gravity at Red Lion, Snargate. Golden, bubbly off white head. Grapefruit, resiny hop aroma. Slightly dry and dusty on aroma too. Fullish in mouth, with delicate grapefruit hop dancing on the tongue. Grassy. Lovely finish. Sublime.

Cask handpull at Simple Simon’s, Canterbury. Hazy gold with lasting bubbly white head. Lemon, cereal aroma. Wheat aroma is quite dry. Hops on aroma too. Quite full in mouth and quite creamy and then excellent hop on end, bitter. Very rounded. Like an English hoppy bitter with wheat added. Hop on end is lovely. Very bitter.

Cask at GBBF 2006. Golden with thick lasting cream head. Reasonably nice hop. Yes, it’s quite drinkable. Probably not the best in the One Hop series (don’t think I’ve heard of the hop variety), but it is herby on the finish.

Cask gravity at Catford BF 06. Black beer with dark brown edge, no real head. Bit of sourness, some blackberry , some choc. Black cherry on end is good. Not a huge honey presence if any. Good though.

Cask handpull at Wenlock Arms. I don’t think that I will ever tire of this series. Orange/gold colour with thin white head. Farty hop aroma, juicy in mouth and then sharp hop on end. I liked it.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 06. Deep ruby colour. Thin off white head. Quite hoppy for a mild. Nice tangyness on the tongue. Bit of stale malt on aroma. Bit thin in the middle, but finishes well. Bit of powdery choc/coffee. Grand Union do make some good beers.
