Bottle from Tesco. Clear gold colour lasting fairly thick white head. It’s a slightly underwhelming golden ale. I mean it’s fine. Nothing wrong with it. Some English character from what the yeast? Some American hop nods somewhere. It’s almost English on the aroma and then some citrus hops and then a bit more English traditional on the finish. It’s ok. Mouthfeel is fine. Citrus hops are fine, lemon and lime not very bitter. It’s a golden ale made in a traditional English bitter fashion. Fine, but ultimately you think, you just haven’t got the concept of this golden ale new world hop lark have you?

Bottle from Tesco Exmouth. Clear pale golden, white head. Rather shy malty base with some aromatic citrusy hops. Much better than expected.

Draft at Miller and Carter, Solihull. Poured a lively medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is dry, weak malt leading to a medium to weak bitter, slightly hoppy, maly flavour. It’s cool, has a watery palate and is full of life. I guess they will sell loads on a hot summer day. It’s not the worst beer in the world by a long way.

Cask @ JDW Elgin [090613]
Amber, clear, thin white head, some lacing
Aroma - very light pale fruits, very little aroma
Taste of light pale malts, light bitter English hops, soft metallic minerals, some damp hay, odd flavour, bit plasticy, very dull, poor flavour
Palate - Thin and watery, soft bitter mineraly finish
Overall - A 1/4 pint of this stuff was enough. Not pleasant to drink. Watery garbage. Read the description - yeah..... that’s garbage too

Cask at the Hogshead, Solihull. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a very thin short-lived head and some broken lace. The aroma is malt and caramel leading to a weak bitter flavour with some malt on the otherwise bland watery palate. This beer lacks punch. If I had to drink this for a session I’d go home.
