Easy to drink English Ale. Nice dark orange color, short creamy head. Not much aroma. Bit malty and hoppy taste, quite bitter. Nothing special, but easy to drink.

An amber beer with a smooth fine head. It has next to no aroma. The flavor is soft, sligthtly sweet and fruity with an OK bitterness. A little light. A fine beer - but very standard.

On draught at Mac's Cafe in Columbus. Darker amber color with a medium thin and creamy white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is lightly malty with a faint roasted quality. Flavor is very smooth, consisting mostly of malt, but there is a little caramel hanging in there as well. Finish is lightly bitter hops. Decent, but nothing great.

Great look on the pour (the guinness effect-with a tan beer). Nice colour, good but a bit mild smell. The flavour is good, not enough characteristics to classify it as a world-class beer, but a good english style ale straight from a can!

Amber with creamy white head. Good fresh hop nose. Smooth malt and medium hop flavor. This is the nitro tap, not the can,which isn"t nearly as good.

i remember this one well. Bronze color with a rich creamy head that sticks. The flavor jumps at you and leaves a tang in your mouth. Not terribly bitter though. Very good beer, they have it on nitro keg at my local tap room for $5 a pitcher every thursday. cant beat that. Has a nice meaty/earthy taste reminiscent of eating a nice shepards pie while taking in the bracken smell of the fell lands up in northern England. Old Rating 3.9 Rerate Nitro tap January 2005 at some random bar. Don’t really know why I rated this so highly or liked it so much before. The lines between this and boddingtons begin to get very blurry. Watery to the extreme, like soaked cardboard or wet leaves. Truly boring.

Amber coloured with creamy head. Sweet, marginally malty, not much bitterness and the nitro kills off every other flavour. On cask it is better, but not by much.

A pleasant standard English bitter. Had it many times, in football stadium bars, and when I happen to be very thirsty and and need to have a drink in the first pub I find. This happened more frequently 10-15 years ago, I see it less often now.

No nitrogen here, I had this on cask, at the Wenlock Arms in London (near the Pitfield Beer Shop - both are highly recommended). Hard body, dryish finish, touch of yeast and fruit. Nothing special, but very English.
