Bottle, summer 2008. Backlogged rating. A light, thin, Golden color. Just a little cloudy. Has a nice white head. It has an aroma, which seems to show more barley malt than usual. I sense some bananas and maybe cloves. The flavor is closer to that of a crystal-weizen, as is the mouth feel. It does not really have the taste of a hefeweizen. It is light in malt, with a relatively simple taste, with some bananas and biscuits. It is very light and refreshing, although not wholly interesting or original.

12oz or maybe 33cl bottle at Toki Underground in DC. Pours a lightly hazy light orange with some creamy white head. Nose is earthy, lemony, light malt, some lime, a little toasted grain. Flavor is the same, toasted grain, lemon, earthy, tropical. Medium bodied, dry, citrus refreshing finish. Went perfectly with my fatty, porky, spicy, herbal ramen dish.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe in Davis, CA. Pours light amber with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of resin over a nice caramel backbone. Near med body. Flavor is floral, resin and citrus over mild caramel. Goes a bit bready. It’s rather lushly floral towards the finish. Excellent and tasty ale.
