What was it like before they neutered it? I try not to give points for concept but really approve of this idea. Can. Black with a cm of tan head. Roasty aroma with coffee, a hint of sour plums, licorice. Dry but not without a little almost creamy body. Fruity and roasty with singed coffee. Bitter and savoury at the end. Lively, wholesome and quaffable. Or maybe I'm sucked in by the story.

Can. Almost opaque orange with a fluffy white head. Aroma of pine, pineapple, grass, some wintery oranges, crackers. 7+ Moderately sweet with oranges and crackers, menthol and pineapple before a somewhat astringent & modestly bitter finish.

Sample. Cloudy pale yellow with a white head. Aroma of guava, Asian pineapple, some passionfruit, crackers - entirely convincing. Lightish bodied with the usual hazy vagueness. Modest bitterness is enough. Slightly spicy at the end too. Very good for 3.5%.

Can. Almost black with a brief tan head. Aroma is roasty with plenty of chocolate and obvious vanilla. Rich chocolate & only just not too sweet. Balancing bitterness. Satisfying and involving for 5%.

A banger. Aromas of chocolate, raisins, toast and a little lemon. You can really taste the bourbon in the mouth, plus those other flavours. Very boozy, but it's really beautiful. I have to keep sipping when I want to gulp.

Can. Hazy orange with a fat coat of white head that doesn't last. Aroma of wintery oranges with lesser notes of other citrus and tropical fruit. Neither overtly boozy or that vibrant. Sweet and full bodied. Lots of fruit with bitterness and some booze stopping it from being too fruit cup-like. I guess excess is its raison d'etre and it succeeds pretty well given what it is.

Aromas of pine, passionfruit, a little coconut and bread. Nice body and length with that coconut sitting nicely on the tongue. Shows its alcohol a little, but over all, a very good NEIPA.

Can. Amber, very brief white head. 3- Aroma of grilled stone fruit, some mango, breadcrust. A broader and more vibrant array of fruit upon a taste, with plump stone fruit, somewhat stinky tropical fruit and sharpening citrus before a fairly bitter finish where pine peeks out a tad.

I thought Melbourne late winter sunsets were due to pollution trapped by an inversion layer. Can. Pretty hazy orange with a brief white head. 3- Aroma of lemon and lime lollies, some melon and passionfruit. So it tastes until a bit of resin and herbs some through towards a moderately bitter and slightly astringent finish. Fun but a little disjointed.
