Tap at KBC. Crystal clear amber orange--not very golden actually, with lace. Seems they are going very light on the carbonation tonight. Nose is coffee, cocoa, bready malt. Flavor is coffee, chocolate, and caramel. Light body. Crisp and roasty. A bit of lemon. Tasty, but thin and mostly just coffee.

Nara x KBC Both Hands Golden Stout
More Amber orange than gold in color but the aroma is definitely coffee but kind of coffee crisp (a Canadian chocolate bar) sweet coffee stout. Medium bodied, very smooth soft mouthfeel and a complete stout like flavor.

As I forgot to get to this on Tuesday I guess this is a Wednesday (oops past midnight so Thursday?) Tasting now… Nara Sweet Pain Sweet Stout 6% 10 IBU This stout’s nitro looks gorgeous and gives the beer a full velvety mouthfeel. On its own it was sweet but with balancing roasted notes. I had it with some dark chocolate which brought out sweet berry notes from the beer but the roast elements popped up in the aftertaste and you get a dark chocolate paste flavor as well. Solid stuff.

Tap at Funs Beer House. Clear bright gold with a medium head. Bright hoppy nose, white grapes, citrus, lightly tropical. Nice nose. Light, crackery malt in the background. Bright, crisp flavor is hop-led. Light, refreshing, medium bitterness. A good one.
