Bottle shared at Cotteridge Convention 2018. Cheers! Pours black-brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose holds ashy roast, brown bread. Light to medium sweet flavour with notes of dry cocoa and earthy hops. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with some dry, bittersweet baking cocoa. Not bad.

Bottle split at Cotteridge Convention IV, many thanks, 23/06/18. Light black with a decent tan covering. Nose is chocolate, spice, molasses, fruit cake. Taste comprises earthy fruits, mellow barrel, black peppery spice, charr, roast malts, toffee, dried fruits. Medium plus bpdy, fine carbonation, drying close with a light boost. Passable BA impy ... sips ok but the barrel doesn't really come alive and I preferred the base beer.

Bottle split at Cotteridge Convention IV, many thanks, 23/06/18. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent light tan covering. Nose is dark fruit rinds, spice, charr, toffee crisp, cocoa powder, mellow roast, dark malts. Taste comprises tangy dark fruits, black peppery spice, charr, roast malts, cocoa powder, chocolate biscuit, dates, dried fruits. Medium plus body, fine carbonation, drying close with a balanced boost offered. Ok impy stout ... perhaps lacking some depth for a 9% number but ticks all the style boxes well enough.
