From a 375ml can on 27/7/2018 (ABV listed as 8.3% rather than 8%). Pours a clear deep golden with a medium head. Has a light fruity nose. Flavour wise, it's a bit odd, like there's something missing. You get a touch of caramel and some muted sweet fruit, followed by a slightly soapy medium bitterness. Everything is a bit muted and quite muddled. Fullish bodied with moderate carbonation. I wish a could be kinder on this big beer brewed in Canberra, but it's a disappointment.

Tap at the Boilermaker House, Melbourne. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a frothy off white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is roasty light caramel malt, nutty woody hop. The flavour is light sweet with a light dry malt, light watery nutty hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

330ml bottle into schooner glass. Dark red/brown beer with two fingers of tan-coloured foam on top. Nose of fruit and cocoa. Flat mouthfeel, taste of chocolate. Short finish has coffee and aniseed notes. Pleasant easy-drinking ale that gets better as it warms.

375ml can into shaker. Aroma is light citric fruit juice. Its a cloudy light amber beer with a frothy white head, plentiful carbonation. Zingy and light in the mouth. The finish is initially sweet then a grapefruit bitterness kicks in and settles on the tongue forever. Nice refreshing flavoursome beer at only 4.2%.

From a 330ml bottle on 11/3/2017. Pours a light golden, alost straw with a largish bright white head. The nose is grassy, with the slightest hint of fruit. In the mouth, it’s quite citrussy and zesty, with a touch of spice. Reasonably hoppy and quite refreshing. Very good for something carrying the lager label.

From a 330ml bottle on 12/6/2016 (shared by Butz with thanks). Pours a deep amber with a biggish head. The nose features some roasty malt, fruit and a touch of basement. This is big on flavour, with some sweet caramel, chocolate and fruit, which is met with a really big roasty, hoppy bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Quite intense and pretty good, but is a touch agricultural and a little lacking in harmony.

From a 330ml bottle on 13/5/2016. Not often I get to rate something from my home town! Pours a clearish medium golden with a small head. Has a light fruity, hoppy aroma. Taste wise, it features some sweet orange, mandarin, and apricot, with bugger all malt presenting. The hops are pretty firm, without the grapefruit, pine or resin you’d ordinarily expect. More lemony than anything .Medium bodied with average carbonation, A reasonably solid IPA but could use a bit more punch.
