Can. Cloudy brownish orange with a white head. Aroma of bread, cloves, banana with a wallop of tropical fruit - pineapple, lime, melons, something a bit more rankly tropical - over the top. Initially a little sweet and perhaps a little bready, but really very light bodied. The hops roar through and really it’s only the cloves and spices of the wheat beer that make it through to the quite dry and moderately bitter finish. And the finish really makes it - an unusual but harmonious combination of yeasty and hoppy things that’s really refreshing.

Can. Amber with an inch of white head that lasts well. Aroma of pine needles, grapefruit, herbal lemon, crackers. 7+ Just enough malt (crackers & a lick of caramel) to make it beer rather than sparkling hop water. Quite clean. Hardly sweet. No stone fruit or anything fancy, just a mixture of citrus and pine. Bitterness is moderately high. Good.

Can, 10C. Black with a fat coat of tan head that doesn’t last that well. Aroma of chocolate, fudge, sticky smoky glaze. Not all that sweet or roasted in the taste and that smoked malt comes through more. There’s also a decent whack of bitterness along with some pepper at the end. As it warmed the chocolate became more prominent. Solid drop.

Pours black with a large quickly fading tan head.Nose shows milk chocolate, subtle smoke, soft roasted malt, nutty notes.Flavours include more of the same nutty and chocolate malt, soft smoke a bit of bready malt.

Can Thought I was buying a stout because the label’s black and I didn’t look carefully enough. Clear amber with a white head that lasts well. 4 Aroma of pine, toffee, sugarplums, apricots, grapefruit. Lightish bodied. Sweet with apricot cake, caramel, greengages (wondered about butterscotch in the aroma, certainly doesn’t show up in the texture), light citrus and some pepper. Fairly bitter. A bit like a much stronger Holgate Mt Macedon. Alcohol is quite well hidden but I’m not sure there’s enough to justify its strength. OK though.

On tap at the brewery. Dark brown. Thin head. Light chocolate nose with a bit if smokiness. A touch of thinness but otherwise a solid smoked porter.

On tap at the brewery. Bright straw. Continental hop notes with abundant pale maltiness. Sweet throughout and the alcohol comes into the finish.
